Add "Operation Bring Them Home" to that flood of propaganda. Certainly the families want their loved ones returned, and as Australians I hope we would all expect our government to take what steps are necessary to repatriate the remains of our fellow citizens. But are we all so juvenile that we need the government to play at tin soldiers just to convince us they are going to get something done? Is it a deliberate militarisation of the rhetoric associated with the functions of civilian government? It seems that governments are all too willing to invoke the military mission paradigm when discussing their actions with the Australian People. I guess it makes it easier to throw up a cloud of secrecy whenever that seems expedient.
