Hi guys, just wanted to ask your opinions on a trade between a year 2000 lunar dragon 3 coin proof set and a year 2012 lunar dragon 3 coin proof set? I understand that the year 2000 proof set doesn't come with a COA and has a mintage of 982. Is this a fair trade? if no, how much difference should the top up be? Thanks.
This is wrong. http://images.marketworks.com/hi/55/55450/dragon_3_coins.jpg Personally I would view it as a straight swap if it had the CoA. Maybe a slight premium for the 2000 vs 2012.
Thanks for that mate! I was under the impression that the 2000 set didn't have a COA. Hypothetically, if it were you, how much premium would you pay?
To be completely honest, I see 2000 dragon completely more expensive than 2012 dragons. Price difference should be 2012+20% at least. When the current dragon mania subsides, I think you will see those levels. From a rarity perspective, 2012 dragons are still available for sale from perth mint at time of this post. 2000 dragons are pretty much damn hard to get.
Only coloured and gilded in 1oz to my knowledge. As to the COA check under the base of the case it may be in there ?
I'd value a 2000 set at up to 1500 and a 2012 set at 1000. I'd see 2012 getting to 1500 within 2-3 years
