    Has anyone noticed how much metal has become available lately?
    Are members becoming negative on gold/silver prospects?

    there is? looks like a normal amount to me.

    I would also assume the beginning of the year will always cause more selling due to people needing cash.

    Yeah I reckon there's a resurgence...particularly considering the low spot price... I figured they'd be holding on.

    I know I will be moost likely selling a small amount soon to fund some new years resolutions I made..... quite cliched I know :)

    Its just the timeof year people need a bit more fiat I reckon..... That said I have seen the buy/sell forums a LOT busier at other times in the past.

    Visited one of my suppliers this morning hoping to replenish my stock.
    He showed me a stack of of over 50 Sovereigns and at least a dozen Krugerrands and told me that I would have first dibs on that stack when he needed the money.
    At this stage he would rather hang onto his gold coins.
    He relented and sold me his entire collection of Napoleon 111 twenty francs and Roosters so I am happy :)

    I'll be watching with great interest Aurora.

    I definately reckon there is more metal available now that there has been in a while. It's making me nervous, like everyone else knows something that i don't.
    What aren't you telling me people!!!

    OK going to be flamed but only live once...

    Weak hands are getting spooked to jump at any move in the spot - $1 down SELL! - $1.50 up BUY! I say WTF!!!

    Think the 8 month downward trend has done the job as hoped - 'spooked investors'. If you are spooked or have weak hands, suggest getting out now because the $5 to $10 day moves will come and possibly cause you a heart attack.

    Move during Xmas was on low volume yet the selling frenzy started?

    Honestly have not seen a marked increase in sales but slightly higher being end of year/Xmas/etc or better said 'seasonally adjusted'

    I'd say more silver than normal but have seen it busier. This time of year people are always offloading. There is Christmas, holidays and school fees just in my family. Talk to most retail owners and they will tell you that unless you are in a holiday area (or a holiday type of shop) that January always sucks. No one has money and no one is really spending.

    If I get that amount of money for the lot I will be happy. This lot represents a small part of my stack, been accumulating since 09.

    Basically will be putting 4-5k towards a gift for my parents (renovating their bathroom)

    The other funds will be put towards more premium bullion i.e. chasing 10oz dragons.
