    I have been in the past. Not a bad few days. Always nice to finish the day with a soak in the hot springs with the old european locals :)

    Just got back from the hot springs . worth moving up just for the hot springs

    Our first visit to Lightning Ridge was by sheer luck at the same time as the festival. Had a great time, been back once more and hope to go again.

    Great meals at the Bowls Club.

    A fascinating place, along with Coober Pedy, and Andamooka, though Andamooka is a dump!

    Funny thing is . Nobody here ive spoken to knows of him :rolleyes:
    And im here with 2 of oldest characters in 50 years & second generation miners / dealers :D

    Stopped at Walgett on the way there, and EVERY business in the main street had heavy steel bars, top to bottom of the frontage.

    The main street looked like they had spent a fortune on it in the past, paving stones, nice big flower pots etc.

    Have they removed all the steel security bars? The pub was just about enclosed in it. Though that was about 20 years ago.

    Most of the buildings dont have bars on windows .The puh did
    I'd rather move to Wolgot than LR
