    +1

International trade raises the living standards and enhances the freedom of all involved, whether it is a consumer in Australia or a sweat-shop worker in Bangla Desh. And if we really care about our fellow man and their economic and political freedom, then we should be doing everything within our power to enhance that trade.

Only 14% of Australia is arable.
China is the most likely country Australia might unfortunately go to war with.
China will always look after it's own interest first.
China is worn out after thousands of years of land use.
Try to buy land in china.

The chinese mainlanders I have meet in Australia have been very good people.
    I like them.
The government is no good and dangerous to our interests.
Look at what they are doing in the south china sea.
Not a country to give potential land bases to, in our own country

And please explain how they are exactly going to get to those land leases without alerting our defence force? It's not going to make it any easier for them if they own farming land, just more expensive. I suppose they could always send troops over in empty shipping containers on the return trip to picking up Australian spuds or T-bones, with empty cans of baby formula filled with explosives and then attack the nearest town, maybe Fitzroy Crossing in a tractor. Jee, i'd be scared of that.

They would have build a large runway to export their produce to china.
This would require a large fuel dump.
We have 100 combat aircraft.(mainly outdated)
    China has 2000 new.

So how would they slip in undetected?

Why would they worry about being undetected?

Then why would we need to worry about selling them farmland?

I dont want to be awarded the red star for giving the chinese an invasion plan, so
I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

It's unsafe selling huge amounts of your homeland to potential enemies.

Whaaaaaaaaaat? :| there is atleast 40+ countries australia would more likely go to war with before china. Why whould we ever go to war with china? Are u just saying that because they are a big country with so many people we must expect war? They are having a few issues with America but if they go to war we would 100% stay out of it. So if china went to war with anybody we would stay out of it. And they have no problem with us... i dont know how u came to that conclusion.

I'll have to concede to you. You obviously have a greater understanding of the logistics behind the construction, operation and maintenance of a military airfield in a remote location than I do. :p

Chinese government owns all the land in China. Chinese people can only buy or rent the apartment/houses but land belongs to Chinese government. No.

Why are we going within china's proclaimed boundrys of their artificial militarized islands in the south china sea.
War with its neighbors could easily break out and we could be drawn into it.
We are already forming new alliances.
China is showing real aggression towards its neighbors.

Lets hope everything is settled peacefully.

    War is mankinds enemy.

aggression? did China actually shot down any plane or sunk any boat in their South China Sea?

the purpose of the law of the sea which was designed to overlap, how can the sea ownership claims be overlapping

anyway, the property is not for sale for now, but the people who work the land can be working for China, its hard to say.

like many European farmers who could not sell their produce to Russia, they could sell their land to China and get employment from the Chinese and be thankful to be employed and sell their produce to a new buyer. they have not much of a choice. If they refused, then those American sent migrants from allover would driven them out anyway. sad but their allied are stabbing them behind their back, and put the blame on Putin.

99 year lease. Then declare independence and become a tax haven (or detention facility).

Yes, war with china is improbable, now.
    Later, who knows.
A number of nations against china is possible.

It would be. But if you live in fear of an extremely unlikely war breaking out and on top of that alliances that may or may not be there if it ever does.. then u have bigger problems :/

Thanks for the info. What a joke that is, probably regulations enforced by corporations to keep their pockets fat and the little guy little. Say if you grow oranges, and after working out costs of getting it to an overseas buyer (importing no probs) you can make more money than selling here. The government won't allow you to export?
