http://agaunews.com/2017-krugerrand-expands-gold-range-adds-silver-platinum-coins/ A monster fifty ounce gold version also.
I like the new fractional proof gold sizes. With platinum being so low relative to gold I keep wondering why more mints haven't been putting out platinum versions of their bullion coins (various sizes).
Mid November. I think premiums will be more towards the Panda end than the Maple for this year at least. I've managed to get some great images of the coin and just waiting for the ok to post them up. It's real nice.
AWESOME. Thanks for the info. These look nice. And for a first time silver. I'm all over that bad boy.
With the "small privy stamp of the number 50 in a circle" on the silver, are you sure that this is not a one-year coin? At the very least, that 50 seems like it would need to be removed if they continue beyond 2017.
Unsure. I did say in the article that we had no definite proof it would continue and that it would likely be tied to how well it sells, but I wouldn't take the privy mark as being proof it's a one-off. It's a minor change to a die to add/remove.
Some much better pictures of the coin up now. http://agaunews.com/agaushoot-new-images-first-ever-official-silver-krugerrand-coin/
pricing: http://www.samint.co.za/collectable-coins/current-range/#tab-id-2 silver coins are approximately $57AUD
mintage is apparently 1 million now for the 1oz "Silver Premium Uncirculated" according to modern coin mart https://www.moderncoinmart.com/silver-krugerrand/
1 million for the 1 oz is correct, and 15,000 for the proof. They're not calling the 1 million a bullion coin, but something to the effect of a semi-numi coin. MCM has the entire allotment. I asked about the spotting problem, and what was told me by the head guy is, if it happens on these, he'd be shocked, as one of the stipulations was they had to source the best material...as MCM was spending a pretty penny on all these versions. Anywhoo...I'll be getting some for sure.
I literally LOLed when I read $40 per for the million mintage pieces when I first read that earlier today. $25ish sure, $40? Uh 100% PASS.
