    Hi All,

I have used the spreadsheet kindly supplied from another thread to keep track of Silver/Gold Purchases.

I was wondering do we need to keep seperate track of the premium over the spot price, postage and shipping cost etc?

I wasn't sure so I just lumped the total purchase cost n.

Thanks in Advance for any advice

    Cheers
    Terry

You only have to keep as much or as little data as you want.

Hi Terry, It depends on what you are trying to keep a track of, personally for bullion products i am interested in the total cost of the item to my door as it is generally my $/ozt (or $/item) that i want to know about. This includes all costs involved in acquiring the item including postage, travel etc. I cant really see a situation in the future where i would need to recall only the cost of shipping etc on any item.

The only data I keep is the pile of paperwork reciepts.

The only total I look at is total in ounces/kilos.

Who care how much fiat you have used, it is the endgame of weight that matters.

In the spreadsheet I made, I like to see what the actual price $/oz I paid, and then to see what the trend in the premium is, so I can keep on the lookout for good buys, whatever the silver price is.
