    Hello Everyone,
Just completed registering to join this forum. I am based in the USA. I have been in the background for some time. I like your interactions; can get spirited at times but you guys say the truth even if it pinches!

Special hello and thanks to you all for your contributions: andrewlee10, mmissinglink, barsenault, LovingtheSilver, ElkSlayer132, yennus, itraindogsandcats, Pandacollector, Justfishin, HAC888, Stark Silver Starker, GatitoBandito.............. there are too many to list here but thanks to you all! I have learnt a lot from your discussions.

When I go through your posts and see medals I have missed I am heartbroken e.g. xi shi, silver Beijing Imperial Palace World Heritage Medal etc. I will try to catch up and will value your assistance as we go along. Please PM me if you have pointers as to where I can get some of these previous medal issues.

I describe myself as a Collector although I am probably a hybrid Collector-Investor; I don't like losing money on coin/medal purchases even though I collect mainly what I like looking at!

Anyway, nice to make your acquaintance.

    Best wishes!

Already a recent thread with some starting points..

    http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...ecommended-sellers-to-buy-chinese-medals.html

As for pricing, in some instances it gives me pause. Seems they can get a bit "bubbly." Are we there now? Who knows. Maybe just my limited budget talking?

I've seen some big money being thrown around. Definitely some nice stuff out there. I suppose it's up to the individual buyer if it's worth it to them.

    Anyway, welcome aboard!

    Welcome to the forum KeepOnTrying!

I believe there are more collectors here in the SS forum than like to admit it. Some stackers try to belittle or intimidate collectors but I think that plenty of stackers are also collectors to some degree....or at least many of the stackers who don't believe in the end-of-times / SHTF scenario that too many tend to believe in.

In one of the recent threads in this section of the forum, there is listed reputable sellers of modern Chinese medals.

The 3 off hand I can remember are andrewlee (a forum member here), lucky who runs www.LuckPawnShop.com, and Frank Wang (thincat00) on eBay. I have purchased from all of them and they are all recommended by me.

By no means is the above list of 3 the only reputable medal sellers...just the 3 that come to mind first.

Guys. I just posted a small write up on coin box redesign. I still have to figure out how to link articles but you can get to it at: Numismatics & Hobbies; Silver Coins; New Coin Box Redesign Suggestions.
    Thanks.

Have anyone care to buy the brass even the mintage is high but the price is much lower.

I have ordered one set. I want to see the real stuff. I might send for grading BUT the grading fee and shipping is 1/3 of the medal price.

Who cares about mintage & proportional cost?

Bottom line: Slabbed ultra-high-relief brass = nice.. :)

I have to agree with Gatito...these ultra high relief Chinese medals in big fatty slabs are way cool to have in the hand. The slabs are a nice way showcase and preserve these gorgeous works of art. Also, it's an anti-counterfeit measure. I have heard from reputable people that there are fakes being made of the Chinese medals of the 1980's Great Wall brass variety. Maybe some years down the road, well made fakes of newer highly popular medals will surface and we will then be glad we had purchased a slabbed medal or had ours slabbed. Just saying...it's an anti-counterfeit measure as well as being a terrific way to showcase and preserve these very appealing high relief medals.

Getting them slabbed is a must for me.

Whether they come pre-slabbed, or buyer sends them off, themselves. No matter.

    Pro's & cons to both.

But ultimately, I think slabbed is the way to go with these.

Might lose out on benefit of directly holding one of these "bad boys," but small price to pay for all the other advantages that a slab brings.

Andrew: Please post photos of 70mm slabbed brass, when available. :)

I forgot to write before. It's always super fun to watch this video and hearing you being so excited. Well who wouldn't be. :)

I probably watch your videos of WH series at least 5 times each if not more. :) Super bad for my savings actually. :D:D

Btw: which is your favorite of the 3 if you need to select 1? :)
