Read this just now...don't seem to read anything about Australian Consular officials assisting Julian or protesting his arrest...but then again the Aust Govt did effectively SFA to lobby the UK Govt for safe passage for Julian back to Aust.

Lets see if WaPo or the NY Times of "Pentagon Papers" fame mount a campaign on behalf of Julian.

So sad to see a freedom fighter being treated this way.
Western Democracy is a joke when things like this are allowed to happen.

He looks shocking, and in some sad way at least it is a change of surrounds even if for a short time,I expect he will be extradited to the US unless Australia can convince POTUS otherwise.

This is what can happen to you if you stick your head too far above the bulwarks, countries don't like their dirty laundry being publicly aired.

    Very soon
the does and don't will be stacked up so high that you will not even on your best day be able to avoid transgressing and paying the price, just like Mr Julian Assange :(

You have been warned, coming to a town near you

Only God can help him now.

Aaaannnd, I hope you end up getting the same treatment. MAROON. Court Jester is an accurate description of your (alleged) brain.

I also hope that Australians & all lovers of the 'TRUTH' will boycott anything produced in these Countries that are complicit in this CRIME.

"‘Greatest traitor in Ecuadorian history’: Ex-President Correa slams Moreno over Assange’s arrest
Moreno is a corrupt man, but what he has done is a crime that humanity will never forget.
From now on worldwide the scoundrel and betrayal can be summarized in two words: Lenin Moreno."

I can't express how disgusted I am at this. Even though it was inevitable that Assange would be abandoned and pursued it doesn't lessen the despair at the world we live in.

Thank our corrupt "leaders" starting with Gillard through to Morrison abandoning an Australian citizen to persecution by foreign governments.

I just finished reading quotes from Trump calming he was not aware of wikileaks.

Assange Fd up real bad with how he handled this and should of trusted lawyers years ago to defend him on the sex charges.
All he has done is prolonged his suffering and without the limelight he illicit ed years ago his public power is greatly diminished.

This is an exert from a bloomberg article discussing whether or not Assange actually encouraged or merely received the classified data.

"Mere encouragement is a closer call. The Justice Department says that “during an exchange, Manning told Assange that ‘after this upload, that’s all I really have got left.” To which Assange replied, ‘curious eyes never run dry in my experience.’”

If anyone has any doubts that he will not be convicted and sentenced to prison then here is an article of a USA woman convicted of manslaughter and sent to prison FOR TEXTS SHE MADE TO A CRAZY SUICIDAL GUY>>>>https://people.com/crime/michelle-carter-suicide-text-case-urging-boyfriend-suicide-texts/

It would not surprise me to see this case referenced in his trial by the prosecution.

I do not mean to sound callous BUT why is this stuff still available online and even played by news agencies when here in NZ the mosque massacre of people getting killed is illegal AND WE HAVE PEOPLE HERE GETTING ARRESTED FOR JUST POSSESSING IT?

Seems state sanctioned murder is still considered ok if the state is USA or UK aligned.

I just saw that. There are videos of him in 2016 saying "I love wikileaks". I don't know why he is "playing dumb" now? This kind of $hit is what pi$$e$ me off about Trump (even though he is my favorite president in my lifetime).

Maybe he is afraid they will say he and Assange were in cahoots, or that he doesn't want to (now) say he supports someone involved in alleged hacking/dissemination of secret gov docs, etc?

Just a wild hypothesis, but maybe the anti Trump elite know that criminal referrals are coming (this week?) and want to try a counter move and get Assange to squeal on Trump or his peeps? The timing of taking Assange at this moment seems a bit suspect to me.
