Do of them have any more credibility? Even if they did, their views would be so unpopular they'd never get voted in. Even if they did get voted in, 4 years wouldn't change a fundamentally flawed system.

Exactly. Lying is necessary. They can't tell the truth. It's just some of them are better at spinning stories than others.

My observations suggest that people want good liars and hate the ones who aren't very good at lying. Generalisation I know, but...

Seems there's a lot of pent up frustration and anger at our PM, coming out in the delight at her face plant. Surely that in itself is, unfortunately, enough for her office to get the message. (Not happy, Julia...) But I'm not sure that trying to take the grand prize for "Funniest Home Videos" is going to be enough to get the country out of the poo.... And where's Swannie's entry?

Labor is the political arm of the ACTU. Everything that Labor does has only one basic purpose and they only serve the interests of one master and it ain't us.

Lets not forget all the wonderful things Johnny Howard did for us ... like lying about children being thrown overboard, introducing the GST (wasnt that meant to override stamp duties and rid us of our black economy?), signing a bs Free trade Agreement with the US, acted as a glove puppet for the US president and introduced first home owners grant, basically starting the housing market bubble). And lets not forget taking away a heap of dangerous (and not so dangerous) weapons from registered license holders, which ultimately hasnt taken them out of the hands of the thugs anyway.

I am no Labour lover .. just saying that both the major parties have a blood on their hands .. and people seem to have very short memories (much like our politicians)

Oh for sure. Couldn't agree with you more. For me though, Gillard and Co are clowns. Howard and Co were dangerous snakes. Easy to laugh at Gillards antics. Howards antics though were never laughable. On the contrary, they turned my stomache as they were often craven in terms of playing second fiddle to US wishes.

I have no love for the Libs, but I trust them to run the country and the economy far better than the ACTU. The HSU is almost certainly the tip of a very large iceberg.

I seem to remember a certain Prime Minister saying INTEREST RATES will always be lower under a Liberal government...Not so, so it seems. Rates are determined by events taking place outside Australia and no Australian government has much say..World bankers determine interest rates!

Another Prime Minister once said No Australian Child will live in Poverty if you elect me..Not so.Just as many today as there was then!

When a newly elected government gets elected things are not always as it seems financially. The answer is easy to rectify, sell the peoples assets and get back in the back..

Now I don't know if super funds will be safe in the future when the funds are run by unions, business interests and banksters, Insurance Companies etc..Lets hope the money is there in 20/30years time. The 401k scheme is currently being milked by the PTB in the US. Did you notice how one of the World's greatest Treasurer's set up a fund after selling public assets so as to ensure the future super retirement funds of Federal Public servants. All the state governments except Qld have unfunded super funds. Why is this you ask? Well they spent all the contributions every year to fund their re election. Now all the super entitlements each year have to be funded from current revenue.

What are All Australian Governments going to do when there is no assets left to sell? I suppose that they will just have to go into debt to ensure that they hold power.

In Qld the asset sales have begun..Seems like a few prime Public Caravan Parks are up for sale!

When the world economy was in trouble like it was then, Australian Governments are told what to do..They hold a G 20 meeting and all around the world, the governments start spending fiat as they see fit..Some to keep bankrupt business going, others to prop up the banks, some to stimulate the economy in a hurry. Pink batts, bank deposits for almost everyone..What about a baby bonus!. Water tank rebates, solar hot water rebates, solar power rebates, family allowance increases..Talk about bribery.. What a great way to bribe the voters.

Cast your memory back to the 07 election, Howard promises $61 billion goodies and Rudd comes back with $57 billion and tries to claim the moral high grounds that he is more financially responsible.

Remember when the pollies had to determine their own salaries..Everyone for, one or two against. They got rid of that dubious method by electing a Judge heading an Independent body to determine their wages..Now who determines the Judge's wages..Oh well they can be linked to the politicians wages so everyone is a winner..

Like the SS joke goes with the croc joke, shake the sh.. out of any politician and all you are left with is an as. hole and a brief case.

WTSHTF..A lot of these funds will be curtailed over night and then it will be everyone for themselves. Keep stackng, you men and women of silver, for as sure as the sun rises in the East, you will need that silver with no more handouts and all.

    Regards Errol 43
