I’m not actually that prudish but he has mentioned his daughter going through serious psychological issues and is likely medicated as well. Not much emotion on the face either. I’m probably being too harsh and ‘judgey’ considering the situation. But it all conflicts with the message of hard work and self discipline paying off. If it’s as bad as it looks then it’s worse than it looks..

Narrow-minded opinions about someone else's problems are the real "joke".

The school of hard knocks in life is a harsh teacher. Each and every experience we have in life helps form our responses.
Trying to see where someone is coming from might help. _JLG.

You can get addicted to Benzos under medical supervision so don't assume it's drug abuse put him where he is. In fact I doubt it is drug abuse.

There's a doctor in every town that becomes known as the "go to" for calorie free mollifiers.

I don't know much about this guy, but you can't exculpate him if the substance of this thread is true. He would have made his own decisions and he'll likely be the first to agree, if he intends to get benzos out of his life.

Look what happened to so many celebrities - Michael Jackson was prescribed propofol, a general anaesthetic, apparently for insomnia. It is most likely that that situation occurred after dependence on other drugs. Money is a curse at that point, a death ticket. Prince's death had parallels.

Tom Petty might be a fairly recent example...a bit hard to say given the media optics. Countless past examples in any case.

You can say "mismanagement" (I agree) but it takes two to tango. A toxic cocktail for both regardless. A doctor admonished for "what they are doing" clouds the issue of celebrity and megabucks, alongside the manipulative persuasion of addiction.

The poignant part of it is money and celebrity act as an accelerant.
