In Thailand where they did not pay hospitals if the person had COVID, there were only 58 deaths out of 69 million people. There were 2551 deaths by suicide because they have destroyed people’s livelihoods

    .

Have a look at the context my comment was made. @Timmy88 stated that 2 full pages of comment seemed to agree with his views.

    So what?

The majority of people used to believe the Earth was flat or that spirits inhabit rocks, trees and by default dog turds.

Just because “a lot” or “a majority” of people hold an opinion about something doesn’t make it a fact.

    Classic Bandwagon Fallacy.

Now. Have I told you how you must think how I think how smart I must think I am?

While I agree the original argument is a type of informal fallacy. I don't think it falls under Bandwagon Fallacy because the Bandwagon Fallacy is concerned with widespread acceptance and not opinions of small groups.

It probably falls under the Irrelevant Authority fallacy.

Conspiracy Deniers sadly believe the propaganda fed to them from government , government departments , media and also fake science put out by the bought and paid for scientists.....

Your so called Conspiracy Theorists are actually fact checkers and can see through the BS propaganda from government , media etc

Conspiracy Theory is a term invented by the CIA as a cover to discredit and put down persons who speak the truth and also to divert the masses attention away from the real truth

Are you a fact checker/truther or are you a conspiracy denier ( mind controlled , brainwashed slave ) ?

It could be interesting to see what the unemployment numbers will be by next year as a direct and indirect result of the lock-downs.
I really hope there isn't a substantial increase in mental health issues and crime if unemployment keeps getting worse.

I suppose the govt. could just keep extending jobseeker, jobkeeper and come up with all sorts of ingenious ways to keep inflating our property bubble, but those are already having some side effects.....

I don't think big infrastructure projects will get money into people's hands quickly enough. I suspect they'll introduce a form of UBI next year.

I was more referring to local issues. I suspect these will be quite different (proportionally) for a number of reasons but I'd prefer not to elaborate.
In the end time will tell!

I was trying to make the point that a poor economy always results in an increase in suicides.

    Total load of shit.
Conspiracy believers have the arrogance and audacity to think they could never be wrong, so have to invent the wankish reasons for their unquestionable rightness.
Same with PM price manipulation conspiracy theorists. :p

I have a mate who believes in just about every conspiracy theory that pops up. So occasionally I'll make one up, then when I start telling him, he always takes the bait :D

I can't tell you as I'm not working for Government. It is more than crazy time-yes.One example -the government has allowed few thousand people to leave Ship Ruby in Sydney without checking if they are infected or not(there were a lot of cases reported later in every state and in USA). It turned out that no one is responsible for this-there was lockdown in every state and if you want to visit your mate now(in Victoria) you will be fine $1600.What crazy times we are living now. I've got friend in Sweden-they living normal life-there is social distancing and mask as well, but people visiting each other, have coffee or beer in pubs, exercising in parks-they are happy people as it should be everywhere....

Our children will be scarred for life after this; if they ever get to live their lives.

ABC News: Statistics show increase in children presenting to hospitals after self-harming.
    By Rachel Clayton

The rate of children ending up in Victorian emergency rooms after self-harming has jumped by a third since this time last year, according to government data seen by the ABC.

Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) data shows Victoria has recorded a 33 per cent rise in children presenting to hospital with self-harm injuries over the past six weeks, compared to a year earlier......................
