The first half of this short video is bad enough but the second part, from 3:00 minutes is something that I never thought that I would see in Australia. That was an act of pure violence against a small child by the police.

Oh. That is shocking. I know it cuts around but the woman seemed so calm that's it hard to believe she ever would have said something to inflame police. And you know what, you should be (are!!!) allowed to say shocking things and still enjoy the freedom and protection from the police rather than prosecution and the silencing of free speech. We live in troubling times!

Why take the kid there in the first place. All the ingredients for what later transpired.

the video is hard to watch. But you should never take children to a protest.
and by god I would have co-operated only for the childs sake, and fought the fine in a court. all she had to do was give her name to begin with and walked away, I wouldnt have got into a tug of war with my child and police.
Im not defending any one but the mum does have her fair share of blame with inflaming the situation, she could have defused that at any time.
If it was me my kid was screaming and in that sort of stress, I would have been inside that paddy wagon in two seconds to avoid the kid further stress.
Principle is not worth the stress on a kid who has no idea what is going on.

but yes she should be able to protest, But keep kids out of it

But the strike for climate is ok. Doubt she would have expected that to happen. I still wouldn’t have taken my kids. It’s setting a scary precedent but maybe that was the strategy.

I understand that if you refuse to give your name and address to the police you can be arrested, certainly in Qld.

I agree that she was dumb to take her child to a protest, especially during a time when group gatherings are (illegally) banned. I heard the cops tell her that she was under arrest but I didn't hear them tell the little boy that he was under arrest before they dragged him out of her arms, assaulted and battered him and took him away.

Try to use your kid as a shield, then expect collateral damage.

Like the good old days of Vietnam War protests when you could be arrested for resisting arrest.

Meanwhile in NSW, a district court elects not to gaol a convicted child sex offender due to Covid-19 concerns.

Over 9000 individual people have donated to his gofundme page totalling 300K but you tube has the counter on the video stuck at 20956 for the last 4 hours.

They always shadow ban anything with some substance that is slightly threatening.
