Just wondering rather than do it yourself Self managed super where you buy gold, are there companies that regularly would take your 9% out and invest it in gold?

Or is it only possible to do it yourself?

Plenty of dealers will sell gold to a SMSF - but you need to do the purchasing yourself.

Not that I know of in Aus, but I know in the U.S there are a few commodity hedge funds that are allocating 10-20% of their portfolio to direct physical metals and other areas of domestic bullion trade...

A family member of mine works for centre link and has to give financial advice in regards to super etc... The 1st time in history he has now started to learn about gold because of so many soon to be retiree's asking about it.

I believe in the near future it will be mandatory for all super funds to have a small asset allocation in metals as a hedge (they should be doing this already if they had half a brain)

If/when this happens there will be an outright shortage on physical I can assure you
