How have souvreigns done in conjunction with the gold price.
I know very little about the investing side of sovereigns vs gold bars etc.

    Any help thanks?

There are the two sides to sovereigns (as with a lot of coins) there are numis sovs - like the 1899P and 1926P mint. In Unc conditions these can go for over $1000 and over $5000. In very average condition you can get them a lot closer to spot.

The common mint and date sovs do usually trade as a function of spot. Very liquid coins as they are well recognised. Watch out for fakes though.

For most of us the sovereigns we see are all common issue and you might be able to purchase at 3% above spot and sell at 98% or 100% of spot to bullion dealers.
Buying and selling on eBay e.g. might at first glance look slightly better but once fees and shipping for single coins are factored in, then probably not. So, see sovereigns as bullion but easily tradeable and in high demand.
