I did a 5 day last year, that was tough. Now I do a 3 day every so often, usually combine it with one of my alcohol free months. During that time I'm the most boring bastard in the world.

Whenever I feel a cold/flu coming I water fast until I recover. The longest I've had to fast was 3 days.

The body also wants to fast when it gets sick. Many folk don't feel like eating
when they have the flu or cold because it's the bodies way of getting into a ketogenic phase.

I've been told that many cancers die when their food source is cut off, in particularly those cancers that
    like sugar.

I usually support myself with whey protein powder, I’ve been using the pea protein. Still tastes like shit.

I’ve got a set of scales that can estimate the muscle mass of my body and I work out how much I need from that. So I don’t start eating my muscles or organs. ;)

At my age I’m finding it tough to lose the love handles

Not so fast on the "non smoking " bit. Refer articles coming out of France in last 24/48 hours.

French researchers to test nicotine patches on coronavirus patients

A French study suggests that smokers could be less at risk of catching the coronavirus — and researchers now want to test nicotine patches on patients and health care workers.

Despite their findings, the researchers at a major Paris hospital insisted they are not encouraging folks to take up smoking, which carries severe health risks — including if a smoker does become infected with COVID-19.

Instead, they are probing whether the nicotine in cigarettes specifically plays a part in stopping smokers from catching the illness — and therefore could help protect patients and frontline health workers.

Their study looked at 480 COVID-19 positive patients at the Pitié-Salpêtrière medical facility, 350 of whom were hospitalized while the rest, with less serious symptoms, were sent home, The Guardian reported.

Of those admitted to the hospital, with a median age of 65, only 4.4% were regular smokers. And of the released patients, with a median age of 44, 5.3% smoked.

Accounting for age and sex, the researchers found that the number of smokers among their patients was much lower than that in the general French population.

“Our cross-sectional study strongly suggests that those who smoke every day are much less likely to develop a symptomatic or severe infection with Sars-CoV-2 compared with the general population,” the researchers wrote.

“The effect is significant. It divides the risk by five for ambulatory patients and by four for those admitted to hospital. We rarely see this in medicine,” it added.

Renowned French neurobiologist Jean-Pierre Changeux, who reviewed the study, suggested that it is the nicotine in tobacco which could be stopping the virus from reaching human cells and preventing its spread.

Still, while there’s a chance nicotine could protect smokers from catching COVID-19, the researchers warned that smokers who become infected often develop more serious symptoms because of the toxic effect of tobacco smoke on the lungs.

The researchers will now attempt to verify their findings in a clinical study using nicotine patches, pending approval of French health authorities.

If Covid-19 was a greater threat to smokers half of China would already be dead. And as far as weed is concerned what happened to the predicted glut of cancer deaths that was supposed to have knocked off all the 60s hippies by now? Whoever made or believed that theory must have been as pissed as a fart.

Go look at cigarette ads made before 1970 and check out how many have selling points like.."8 out of 10 Doctors recommended Styvos."

    Taking it simple....

At first, the Immunity co-relates on what you normally do daily either good or bad and routine lifestyle.
Taking enough sleep and how you cope up with the stress highly affects good health.

Happy-contented people turns out to live longer.

Correct water-food intake and clean environment is very important.

Then lastly, a good dose of safe sex is the best exercise.:p:p:p

I’ve been putting it in my coffee as a milk substitute. Gives me a slight twitch whilst commuting in the morning.

Exactly, as the article states, just like other coronavirus.

Of course that hasn't stopped pharmaceutical companies making billions selling us the flu vaccines. And it won't stop them selling us a covid vaccine, which will be just as (in)effective.

I'm not willing to spend the rest of my life locked away, just incase I catch something and die. And I suspect an increasing number of others, are starting to feel the same way.

We just have to accept the fact that this is possibly here to stay.....

Edit : 99%+ of the population die of self-inflicted causes , not from external causes ( for which we have no control)......And I like those odds.
