Umm mah. I like getting paid too much to pinch something as trivial as toilet paper. When you walk out do you 'smuggle' it in wasted cavaties or do your friends just think you are glad to see them? ahhh, its this gutter stuff that cracks me up. Usually I'm laughing by myself though :/
My workplace has an in-house cafe where I see the same ppl lining up everyday to buy their lunch. It's subsidised (& healthy) food, around $5-7 for a hot meal/wraps that would cost $10+ in an outside cafe - but still that's about 1oz of Ag a week (or 1oz Au a year). Honestly lunch doesn't have to be that complicated. W/meal crackers, cheese, carrot/celery sticks, boiled egg, etc. Takes me all of 1hr tops for buying+prepping on a Sun arvo, then 5-10mins assembling each night before I go to bed. Not that hard with a bit of fwd planning/thought but ppl (of which it's mainly Gen Y'ers or Gen X'ers) put it in the 'too hard' or 'can't be bothered' box.
divorce, don't drink, don't eat, move to a cheapest housing possible ... the rest profit put into silver ))) hmmm, then the question arises where to store the silver, right?! so keep it in cheap house not an option now. There goes buying better house, getting married so wife safeguards the possessions, she starts feeding you and because of stress one starts drinking, and even smoking(!!!) ... ))) morale - don't try to save much, but try to earn more
Or you could get one of these (http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Handle...qid=1347582622&sr=1-3&keywords=Straight+Razor) and join the world of real men, no power needed, no blades to replace, still need the clippers for the buzz cut though
Straight razors are nice, but I cut myself too much. So I use a double edged razor instead, a few cents for a balde that can last a week+ is still a lot cheaper than cartridge razors (Not to mention I get a better shave, closer shave with no irritation)
I wouldnt go GT when the regular supercharged 5l can be tuned to make the same power. Brembos arent worth 20k. And neither is that ugly paintjob
Just when i'm thinking of getting a 250cc crotch rocket to save on transport costs. Do i really want to spend 4k though? And yeh, being the cheapskate asian i am, i never buy anything new, except pamp bars.
If anyone is serious about saving $$ to buy silver, they need to get their heads around the difference between appreciating and depreciating assets. Impulse buying of depreciating assets eg flash car/speedboat/handbag and shoes etc get rationalized by the buyer as "I've worked hard and I deserve this reward" eventhough the underlying driver is emotionally driven. Really? Ask yourself-how's that working for you? Are you any closer to becoming financially free? As NR is fond of saying-have a written plan (longterm, medium and short term) that is referred to often to remind yourself as to what your financial goals are and STICK to them. If you find that difficult, it is a symptom of buying pain relief (and this is a whole different conversation).
Always own cars only in this range 4 cyl = 60,000Km - 130,000km 6 cyl = 65,000Km - 150,000Km *Don't go above a 6 cyl Try to get ex-gov cars, usually way cheaper second hand Don't spend money on servicing them, just do your own work and skip the major stuff as you will sell before it all breaks anyway, may have to fix the odd thing but if you have road-side-assist then no big deal. This way you buy them under 1/2 the new cost, already run in with most of the services done and you get more Kms out of it than the other owners. Might still get something for it when you sell it as well. Look for cheap fuel vouchers and fill up on the cheap day, vouchers are for 150L of fuel so take some Jerry cans down to get your whole 150L of discounted fuel. Take ALL unnecessary weight out the car and run the tyres 3-5 psi over manufactures recommendations, reducing road friction, saves on fuel and tyre life. Plan trips to incorporate less travel by combining your stops along the way and when you tip your Jerry cans back in the tank do them one at a time so you are always driving on a 1/4 tank, saves hauling the extra weight of the other 3/4 of a tank, might be 40kg of fuel your not transporting. Wash your car only in the rain, just park it on the driveway in a storm and go out in your swimming gear and wash the car down, saves on water and if it's raining hard enough the neighbors wont see you doing it.
I find quality Japanese 6cyl cars (Toyota) last a little longer. I buy at around 50,000Km and sell at 200,000Km (or 190,000 ish). I always change oil and filters myself. The only thing I get a mechanic to do is the timing belt as per manufacturers recommended Kms. But I mostly do long distance driving, and I always take it easy when accelerating and braking. Washing in rain is good because you won't need to dry it. And you won't get mineralization marks on windows. I often speak with taxi drivers. The one I use quite often owns three cabs. He said he always gets rid of cars after 200,000Kms as that's when major problems start (gearbox, steering, diff, etc). He has 2 ford falcons and one BMW hire-car for executive clients.
Yeah I have always bought Mitsubishi, I quizzed my mechanic friend and he said go either Toyota or Mitsubishi
my bones just shivered, no amount of skimping would make me drive a rice racer. Being a Hemi nut I wrote off fuel long ago. 2 years ago I gave up the booze, all the money I was wasting now goes on pm's. I wake of a morning now with a smile instead of wondering what I did last night.
