We had some limes dropping off the tree, more than we could use and the freezer is still full from last year's crop. Anyway the neighbour asked for them so we gave her a few buckets. She brought over a very refreshing lime cordial the next day. Doesn't get cheaper than that! And really nice too!
For smokers.... Stop smoking save $2737.5, if you smoke one pack with two days. Assuming $15 per pack.... I have saved and swapped with a 1/10 gold coin so far since I declare smoke.... For drinks..... I even put half water into what ever the drink I brought for my kid... so even multiply your soft drink saving (life seems becoming too tough....
Eat out every meal, have the maid do all my chores so I have more time to............ Drink cheap beer :lol:
I will stick to my Beers, Broads and Cigars thanks (well maybe the beer and cigars, they are comparatively cheap to the broads). There has to be a point when you save enough scrimping and saving is enough and enjoy life

Don't tell the missus you have actually saved money ... she will always find an argument as to why it should now be spent on holidays, renovations, new washing machine, etc (and therefore defeating the purpose of trying to save it in the first instance) !!
Become a full on junkie, develop a $1000 dollar a day habit, quit the drugs but keep doing whatever you were doing to afford $1000 worth of drugs a day.
Can't believe I forgot to mention that. I've been giving myself a buzz cut for years - cost was about $30 upfront for the trimming kit and that's it. First attempt was a disaster as I tried it in NZ and halfway through ran out of juice and after a frantic 60 minute search realised I'd left the damn charger back in Sydney :/ No barbers in the small town I was staying at either! That and I gave up doing a full shave - I just use a $20 beard trimmer that lasts for ages. Saves me heaps on gillette disposable razors. I also happen to think a bit of rough on the chin suits me - so long as it doesn't get too long and then the ginge just gets too strong! Savings prob in excess of $500 per annum. Shampoo lasts for ages too which is a bonus.

Heaps of threads on the internet about people not even needing shampoo, so you might be able to cut that out. The anti-dandruff shampoo actually causes dandruff after a week, causing you to use it again. So since I stopped using it, I didn't need to use it. Crazy hey!

I only use the toilet at work, saves on paper, water, soap and towels! Plus I am getting paid to do it, that's the best part! (and it saves having to carry the toilet paper home, those toilet roll dispensers are sure screwed on well)
Go the whole hog guys. Just sleep at work, stock up the bar fridge (but eat lots of cereal so that you can avail yourself to the free milk), watch internet TV through the computer, take the girls/boys/other back to their place/paddock and best yet, you'll probably get a pay rise because you're so committed to the company that you're always the first one in and the last one to leave.
Plus we have showers at work for the people who cycle in, not to mention that being a hospital there are plenty of beds lying around...
I'm with Shadow. It is good to enjoy some of our hard earned. But all in moderation. Eg no beer most weeks, once in a while a carton of premium beer. Cook most of the week, get takeaway on Friday only. No compromises on bread or milk - Bakers delight every week (no other bakery available). Milk - A2 or Riverina fresh instead of the Coles/Big W brand. 2 other tips. Aldi is good for cleaning products/detergents and Gilette style blades. Much much cheaper (eg 5 blades for $6). Not as good but better value. Meat can sometimes be cheaper and of better quality from a butcher instead of Coles/Aldi. Especially butchers in less well off areas. Meat (and other foodstuff) is priced according to demographic economics. Better off areas, you pay more.
