    Hi Guys,
can somebody give me a heads up as to how to buy the minimum number of nab shares possible so that I can have a say at their next agm?

I have no experience with stocks.

you can go to a traditional broker and just buy 1 share you will have to pay brokerage of about 60 dollars or so I think the online brokers have a minimum dollar value so you have to buy more with them this info is few years old hope it helps

    Wrong.

Minimum regardless is $500 so you will have to buy 23 at the least.

Go open an account with bells or something and buy the stock.

    Thanks for the heads up.

They wont know what hit them when I get my chance to voice my opinion about their corrupt (border line illegal) business lending practices.

Join commsec and get the free bro

    http://www.commsec.info/onlineoffer/

If you don't want the exposure but want the voting rights, buy the 23 shares then sell 22 the next day. The free bro should cover you. You have no minimum limit when selling a stock you already hold.

You'll find that usually Comsec wont allow you to sell an amount that leaves you with less than $500 worth of shares. A sneaky way around it is to put the whole amount for sale and then as the shares are taken out a little at a time (hopefully) then you can change the sell price to a higher price and then cancel the trade leaving you with less than minimum holding. It doesn't always work though because your sell order may be taken out in one hit - leaving you with no shares!

Hmm good point, I remember someone saying commsec specifically won't let you hold less than $500...

With the amount of volume that NAB trades at, it will definitely get filled in 1 go, so I suggest you don't try lol
