    An example,

When Apollo 11 went to the moon they took 5 'Hasselblad' cameras to take the pics.

Each one cost US$5000 in 1969.

They figured out that it was CHEAPER to throw away the camera body and only bring back the film case as the weight was just too expensive to factor into the cost calculations.

Just think of a ton of gold in the equation.

There is still on the sea bed, in the ocean water and on Antarctica for gold exploration. Actually here in the WA goldfields there is miles of ground never been drilled yet, why look into space?
The way things are going they will be reprocessing the old tips and rock at 0.1 gram of gold per ton! I remember when they needed 5 grams per ton for it to be worthwhile.
The old timers doing it by hand needed 1 oz per ton for it to be worthwhile.
Soon they will be using GM bacteria to accumulate gold!

When the Spanish conquistadores invaded the Yucatan and conquered the Mayans, they discovered a civilisation with enormous amounts of gold. The Mayans thought the fair skinned visitors was part of the return of their god Queztacoatl but were in for a rude shock. They were murdered and plundered.

The Spanish found tonnes of gold in the form of trinkets, jewelry and items fashioned for common use. The galleons were so heavily overloaded with their booty that some ships did not survive the rough seas and did not make it back. I wouldnt be surprised if they had their share of "boating" accidents and piracy on the high seas was an example of gold robbers in action.

The Mayan "god" also was a lover of gold, much like the Annunaki gods of the Sumerians, and the obscure reference to our god in the Bible, . The Mayan god Queztocoatl (possibly "Enki" an Annunaki god that was said to be fair skinned and blue eyed) gave them much knowledge in the fields of mathematics, culture, art, and fashioning.

The point is they Mayans did not hide and protect their gold. It was in everyday use. It wasnt about the "price" of gold. It was their choice of metal of the day.

The saying "he who has the gold makes the rules" is very, very historical because it goes back to when mankind was in his infancy. Gold is valuable to us because it was valuable to "them".

Gold is the stuff of Kings. Who were the Kings? They are said to be the descendants, the royal bloodline to the Gods.

Thats what i have been able to work out and i reckon thats what all the fuss is about over a "barbarous" relic that has no place in modern society to all but a few that still have a vested interest in it.

Flood the world with paper. Central banks dont stack paper or tulips.
The small coterie of "families" that are in the shadows of the global banking system want the gold.
It is a store of "wealth", but most importantly, it is a store of "power".

So ... pay no mind to the mumbo jumbo and just keep on stacking ...

Particularly since it is only the Russians and Chinese that have the ability to send men (or women) into space. The USA spewed trillions of dollars into the "too-big-to-fails" but canned manned space flight. If there is one thing that doesn't make sense in this whole mess, that is it.

Both the Russians and the Chinese are decades (3 or 4) away from a trip to Mars.

When i was a lad the discovery of water on a planet was a BIG deal. Now they claim to find evidence of water on Mars and hmmmm... yeah ... interesting isnt it .... wind the space program down ....

It cost $50,000 to send 1 pound of weight into space and bring it back to Earth. Such enterprise only profitable if gold price reached $100,000 /oz.

I call bovine excreta on the water on mars or the moon, claims.

As systematic observes, looks like a budget allocation tactic.

Speaking of which, the Apollo 11 film magazines have been scanned and put on line http://next.nasa.gov/alsj/a11/images11.html

Magazine 40 has some absolutely stunning colour photos of lunar surface, lander etc. Gotta say that LM looks pretty flimsy...

a break through in antigravity technology would change that per pound cost base

Interesting docomentary called "Astronauts Gone Wild - Lunar Landings are Fake (2004)" with astronauts being interviewed if they really went to the moon. Mitchell loses his temper and throws the crew out of the house. His son asks him if he wants to call the CIA and get them whacked. OMG... great watch

    Sounds sensible!
