Well my friend go back and READ it again.
Do you understand what "resolved cases" mean?
It means cases that have had an outcome.
The people have either died or recovered.
RESOLVED CASES is the bit you should pay particular attention to.
    The ongoing cases mean zip.

On the plus side the toughest times can bring about the best in humanity coming together to produce exquisite art and novel expressionism. And, if it get crazy enough we may even get some additional chapters in the bible :p

^^ Too late for Australia, I'm afraid.

Pretty sure we now have the title of Idiot Nation 2020.

A visit to Coles the other day ... almost cleaned out of TP and there is a sign saying 1 pack per customer. Everything else was available in abundance, except vitamin C with echinacea and garlic or vitC with echinacea! They are all gone. This was an area with a heavy Chinese demographic.

My take - the herd will panic when SHTF. Panic buying TP is not of itself rational, however it is rational to be 2 steps ahead of the herd and get what you need before a panic or a supply chain disruption or worst case, you need to self-quarantine.

It is really dumb of the media to label preparation as selfish and hoarding. In reality, if you get sick, the most altruistic thing you can do is self-quarantine. But that’s only possible if you have prepared - ie you have food, TP etc.

Go back and do your calculations again.

I know it is stupid but that is how is is done.
You ignore the current unresolved cases and only plot the the resolved cases that have either died or recovered.
I shall dig out the methodology and post it here so you do not continue to think i am a total retard:)

Here is a wiki article that sums up my math.
Clearly there IS A STRONG BIAS involved with the unresolved cases and perhaps it was not helpful or perhaps not even reasonable to run the numbers i posted with so few subjects.
We are in a silver and gold forum so im betting most of us understand the crazy 211% fatality as being impossible , but it is what it is.

The Mother and her daughter has been charged over that toilet paper fight in Woolworths. Well done Australia, that stupid video has gone viral around the world!
    ___
Police have charged two women for an alleged fight over dwindling supplies of toilet paper in a Sydney supermarket.

Police said they were called to a Woolworths store at Chullora about 7am on Saturday after reports a 49-year-old woman had been assaulted.

“We just ask that people don’t panic like this when they go out shopping,” the New South Wales police acting inspector Andrew New said. “There is no need for it. It isn’t the Thunderdome, it isn’t Mad Max, we don’t need to do that.

Call me what you will, but I prefer conflicts of this kind firmly removed from government and legal influence.

Not for one moment do I think you are a retard @sterling-nz .
Im just struggling to accept the numbers as you posted and would like to see where you got them from as all others refer to a 2-5% mortality rate.

This is but the tip of the iceberg. The next month is going to ramp up considerably.

And they will still be mad when their finger punches through it!

Instead of trying to hoard toilet paper why not just have a couple old rags and wash them daily. I only crap once a day normally.
Or just use the Australian dollar bill!

Finally I might find a use for all of those real-estate flyers that people put in my letterbox. A bit glossy and stiff but you can't be choosey in an emergency.

It's an Australian Dollar coin. Might work for scraping out dried cling-ons.
