Holden workers won't take pay cut.

I get what you are saying, but everyone needs a place to live which puts upward pressure on rents. If rents stay high, property prices remain stable.

Could rents fall when the population is increasing and so is competition for a limited number of rental homes? I doubt it.

Do you mean for an extra $3291.75 you can have A/C fitted? :p (its such an unbelievably cheap little car.
From what I've seen of the Nano, the engine has enough power drive the wheels or the A/C.. but not both at the same time :D

If I understand your theory correctly you're saying: Real estate prices will remain stable because population increase will keep rents high?

During 2007 USA had record immigration levels:

It didn't seem to help keeping house prices inflated:

In addition the job market is softening. More immigration will only raise the unemployment level. Unemployed people can't pay high rents.

No an extra $365.83 and u get A/C

Seems to go ok with the A/C on at $3000 it needs to come into Australia I think it would be popular

Tata nano seems pretty fuel efficient as well

My current VX commodore station wagon is 11 kilometres per litre

Shouldn't it be my right to choose what I want to buy as a consumer I'm fully aware if a truck runs over me while driving one of these things down the freeway I'm going to die. However I would like that choice without the government interfering.

I'm surprised that the engine can also drive the alternator with the current draw from that guy's stereo....

I cant see a stereo might be an MP3 player or something.

However .. I have a 500cc scooter with a heated seat and hand warmers etc is has a blue tooth radio and cd / mp3 player in it all can be run from the alternator on the motorbike. I cant see how a 650 cc car would be much different

Holden workers are facing a three-year pay freeze and cuts to conditions to keep the company's plant at Elizabeth in Adelaide's north open.

John Camillo from the Federation of Vehicle Industry Unions says the future of 1,700 Holden workers hangs on their vote on Friday next week.

"Holden has made it quite clear that if the workers reject the variation they have decided to close the operation down in 2016," he said.

"There's no plan B in this one. The workers will make a decision on August 9 and if it's a no the company will close."

I've always been a holden man, but not anymore. I gotta say from my experience with commodors and an astra that holdens are very poor quality. Their nice new but then they turn to sh!t and become money pits.

Just bought a 3 year old corolla and couldn't be happier because it shouldn't slowly die on me like my previous holdens.

    Another quote from the article

    Sounds like extortion to me.

A contributing factor would be people remembering the TS model like the one I just got rid of. Broken key barrel, broken radio, broken starter motor, broken hood latch, broken lumbar support and on and on and on

I'm glad Opel buggerd off, their car cost me money to fix from the word go.
