Hi everyone, I've just started collecting silver a few months ago, and now I know a bit about the market, from ebay to silver mines, now wish to know more about the game as a small player. I was wondering what the best sources to buy '66 50c pieces around spot are? Cheers, GMan
Welcome GlimmerMan Funny ya know this time last year 1966 50's were plentiful & cheap. Seems public awareness has taken hold.
welcome aboard. I have been trying to get a few round 50s but they aren't easy to BUY at spot. You might have success at trading for some, different people like different things. Buy some pre-war coins at under spot and then trade them for round 50s, that might work. Another thing that might work for you is to visit auctions and ebay etc, keep bidding spot until you get lucky. It's getting harder with more people climbing on board but you might hit a window where everyone's money has run out and you can get some cheap lots. My experience with ebay has been utter rubbish but you may fare better. What city are you in? If you can trade f2f you might be able to get a good deal (no postage). Hope that is helpful.
Hi GlimmerMAN. I don't think that you will get too many 66x50 rounds for around spot. $14 might get you into the market at$42AU an oz. The days of buying these at spot seem to be gone though you do hear of a lucky stacker finding a few at times. Best of luck Regards Errol43
