Im looking into to get some notes.I have read somewhere on the forum that a note can be "washed" and look good as new and uncirculated. how would I know if that is the case with any note? Thanks

    Hmmm.

Tricky one, they can look 'flat', the intaglio printing will no longer be raised as the notes are usually flattened by ironing or pressing.

Rough edges can be sliced off with a razor so you need to know the original dimensions as well.

They can also be bleached to remove foxing.

One way is to look for the note on google images and see if you can find the serial number. I have seen examples bought from auction, cleaned and re-auctioned at a higher grade.
