    I have a coin that is 55 grams of 925
    What is it equal to in pure silver/how many grams of silver in it?

    Also a bracelet of 102 grams in 925, what is it worth as silver?

    Thanks

    Weight x purity = silver weight
    (55x0.925) = 50.875 grams asw

    50.875/31.103 = 1.635 oz of silver and if you wanna be fancy, you can divide
    the silver weight by the gsr and you will get gold value convertible

    1.635 / 42 = 0.0389 oz gold equivalent

    So the bracelet is;

    102 x 0.925 = 94.35 grams asw divide by 31.103 g/oz = 3.03 oz asw multiply by spot $ 32 = $ 97

    Also when the spot is $31.10 per oz than $1 = 1 gram of silver

    If you go to sell your 925... you might get paid less for the bracelet.

    I have been trading silver and gold for many years, and my buyer pays less for jewlery than coins... They claim that they recover less actual silver from the jewlery than .925 because "virgin" silver is not used to make the jewlery (I get only .88%). Now when I sell 925 coins I get the full 925.

    Back in the 80's the buyers did NOT grade silver this way... if you had "marked" sterling you got paid .925
    if unmarked they would offer to assey it, then buy. (I would hold all unmarked until I had about 100 oz then get them to assey it, it costs $30. to assey.)
    I have been trading with this same business since 1981 and he is always paid TOP prices. 97% of spot. :)
