    Would appreciate any advice on where I can buy, sell and short Australian stocks

    Most banks don’t offer a shorting option

    Don't know.
    Some use contracts for difference (CFDs) for the purpose, eg IG markets. Strongly recommend against them unless you're adroit - they're leveraged derivatives, you can lose a lot more than you put in .

    If you want to short the S&P/ASX 200 Accumulation Index and not particular stocks, you have the choice of two efs that I know of, tickers: BEAR and BBOZ

    Use long options.

    Dont those cfd or future. as they can margin call you when market going against your bet.

    CFD's. They are fantastic for trading. :)
    Most lucrative tool I've ever used to trade markets.

    But you need to use risk management. If you don't have a plan, then this can happen:
