I bought a 1999 Silver Eagle off ebay for $20 because I liked the toning and the price. Now that I have received it, I noticed what I think may be a die error on the obverse. It is basically a small crater. After seeing the crater on the obverse, I am starting to wonder about what I thought was a razor cut on the reverse. Could what looks like a 1" perfectly straight cut actually be a die error? And now as I looked the reverse over one more time, I see what looks like chunks cut out of the left side of the shield. Please check out the images and let me know what you think. And if it is a die error, please let me know what you think of its value. Thank you and happy hunting.
