Holy smokes Batman i had to do a double takei am humbled by your efforts so far.

You sure had us fooled with this i am an opal miner cutter story when you were really trying to hide your true identity as a private investigator!!!!

Thanks for all the research mate truly that was a stunning piece of investigative work!!!!

Looking like a private re-strike maybe? As you have already mentioned seems entirely plausible and a logical deduction this is getting interesting

    Thanks Matrix

    Many thanks

I think the sheep in on the obverse should be very nervous

ROFLMAO. mate never noticed that .Guess it was time for a prostrate exam..Good pick up

We can now deduce that the coin may have been minted by an Agricultural foundation as well..

    Thanks mate

must be one of the hardest google searches ever.

I think I can probably conclude that on the side that inscribe EC:AG:DEI , etc, it's not about silver (AG) or any of that kind. But it's an abbreviation of:

Ecce Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi. I now tend to think that 1959 is not the year but maybe it's some bible text (sorry I am not christian so don't know any biblical stuff).

There is an EXACT match of this coin in a catalogue here (item 349) but I think it's in latin:

Hi Redback, is there anything on this coin/medallion that you can tell us to help out? Like is this in your possession? Family heirloom? If so, what's the size, maybe weight? The closest I found was this
    http://www.google.com.au/imgres?img...hl=en&sa=G&tbm=isch&ei=69fmTem5Ao6CvgP3p5jdDA

Item 6. Check out the cross. Nearly identical, down to the lion. But that coin is silver I think.

Also, going on the line of biblical stuff, instead of 1959, if you read it as

59, 19, then google says something like
"So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his
glory from the rising of the sun" But remember I am not christian, so this is a big stretch of the simple man's mind.

Tis very apt as Gold is coming back with a vengeance.
