Welcome. I was in Canberra this morning and there was a big flurry (melted almost straight away). Winter's still got its grip. Some people's favourite abbreviations that I had to look up include: - IMO/IMHO/IMVHO/IMNSHO/IHNO (variants on "in my opinion", "in my humble opinion" etc) - LMAO/LMFAO/ROTFL/ROFLOL/ROTFLMAO (variants of laughing, rolling on the floor laughing, laughing my arse off etc) De reely trky thred ta unnerstan iz da silva thred wid al da pirat spik ta fule ta morg bots. Tis faakn funnee ta reed dough. (Try Turk's pirate translator on page 183.) http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-7611-midnight-to-6am-overnight-spot-watchers-spot.html
Thanks muchly for all that. I have to go chop some firewood so's I can cook up some bacon and some beans. My second cousin in Bungendore tells me that it snowed (a little bit) there today as well. Talking abbreviations, when classing wool we would have our AAA line for good wool, a BBB line for coarser wool, PCS for pieces, BLS for belly wool, and so on. One classer had a DFK line which, he told me, stood for Don't eFfen Know! Am I allowed to say that here? : | :|
Page! You have now entered an unsafe zone. These people are in an advanced state of Dementia, due to waiting many years for silver to go to the moon. As you and I both know, there's more chance of it going to Mars at the moment. But welcome anyway.
Hi page, buzz has not been covered. It is when something is for sale and you want to buy. You buzz which means you accept at the price offered. A buzz is generally binding. Possum
Gday fellow farmer!! How many hectare on that small farm? You running woolies? Dairy here,260 thru the shed,70 head springing,70 calves over 2500 acres. + some meat for the freezer. Had a shot at roustabout one day nearly killed me! Welcome to the forum.
I'll cover another forum term... pikey. That would be me - and also referred to as a 'wheeler dealer' in metals. Rural life... oh how I wish I could go back - very strange to feel trapped in city life but very true! Grew up on a smallholding (turkeys, few pigs ducks, chooks, horses) and even done a few 20 head lots of lambs from time to time. Best years of my life in hindsight! Welcome into the stackers party - even if I do envy you a little bit! Feel free to hit me up whenever you like, RD/Lee
"Turtle-heading". Hadn't seen this before but based on its use means "really good", "brilliant" or "smart". As in "this turtle-heading government" or "this turtle-heading policy" etc.
