My dad started me collecting coins when I was 6 years old, soon to be 60 years ago. In the 1960s (I think), I bought all the Whitman Australian coin folders and worked on them diligently, sourcing from dealers' 10 cent foreign coin boxes. An Australian pen-pal visited our family in 1963 and we had a marvelous time; he arrived in February, just in time for the biggest blizzard in 25 years. Now I have come to believe that the US dollar is going to suffer hyperinflation, and I plan to buy silver (Canadian Maple Leafs) starting in a few weeks, after I see what's left over from the taxman.
Doug, Welcome on board. My father hails from your neck of the woods. Go the Buckeye state & the Lickin River. Sold some Columbus family land (30 acres) about 1 year ago. Remember visiting there about 20 years ago. Happy friendly memories.
G'day Dougy, A warm welcome to you cobba. You not from one of these US states freezin their balls off are ya? if ya are stack that silver mate, it warms the soul.
Welcome to the board. Keep us in the loop on your experiences and any shortages developing in Canada. Cheers, Slam
Welcome Doug If you are a Buckeye fan, I am afraid you are going to be very depressed after the Sugar Bowl.
Welcome to the board Doug. Hope you get a white Christmas, which would be a dream for me as I'm from North Queensland where it's currently 34 and very humid (at least it's not raining - but it will again shortly I'm sure )
