Hello all Thought I'd best say hello officially. I admit i have been lurking here for a while, not sure why it took so long to get off my XXX and register, but here i am. This forum has provided me with a lot of answers, i only hope i can return the favor at some stage. I have been stacking on and off for some years, i had to sell my entire stack a while back but it quite literally saved my bacon at the time. I'm back into semi serious stacking now, and plan on keeping it that way. I stack because i have lived in countries where the local currency took a bullet and i learned the lessons well, i have some interesting notes with 100x over-stamped with 10 000x how would you like to wake up in the morning and see that on the news...... i have an interest in cast bars , i mainly stack Perth Mint silver, but i like to look at nice things so hello from WA, and thanks for a great forum. Hi Willow Worked in Yugoslavia when the Dinar died, they went to $US, Deutschmarks and gold. I still have one of the over-stamped Dinar notes. Worked in parts of Africa where local currency was used to light fires. Worked in parts of Asia where i learned to distrust the banks exactly as the locals do. Asians in general are into gold in a big way, they have seen what happens when banks close, corruption is rampant and things go wrong, Aussies just haven't been exposed to hard times via a financial meltdown like other countries have been through, when they are, i think they'll learn the same lesson. sorry, end rant, preaching to the choir here
