Volunteer work helps a lot of folk. In Australia there's a huge population of helpers, indeed without them the government would struggle to close the gap. Good people help others.
No surprise to see Yanis Varifakis in there adding his endorsement. I cant figure out if it's more naive or stupid. Do people really not understand human nature?
What a bunch of commie cods wallop! The only thing that will happen is that the "basic wage" will be the new zero. That is, universal inflation in prices to absorb the extra money in the economy. Then the "basic wage" will not be a living wage and they will commence a process of periodic increases, brokered by smarmy politicians who will have realised what power over the population they hold in their hands. No doubt, the increases to the basic wage the politicians grant the newly dependent populous will consistently be out paced by the wage increases they grant to themselves.
It's calledpeople seeking to maximise their self-interest through cooperation - the essence of the free market.
well i guess it's better then how our government is spending money and manipulating the market. Better off giving the money directly to the people instead of government spending that money on things no one wants and trying to propping up failing companies.
Anyone else think that it is strange that the slogans are not in the language of the countries that they are in?
The Swiss are multi-lingual and of course those campaigning want the world to see. It's a stunt. They don't expect to win.....this time.
Yanis Varifakis. - the theme tune "Tsipras said that in a top-level June 25 meeting he and Varoufakis attended with the IMF, ECB, and EC heads, "(Varoufakis) was talking and they paid no attention to him. They had switched off," Tsipras said. "He had lost his credibility with his interlocutors.""
