Happy Pi Day! Most years we celebrate pi day on 3/14 at 1:59 am (pi = 3.14159). This year we get to explore a few more decimal places and will celebrate on 3/14/15 at 9:29 am (pi = 3.1415926) Pi has been successfully calculated to its 4 quadrillionth decimal place! It took 32 days to calculate these numbers and another 32 days to double check them. To celebrate, I thought I would share my favourite pop cultural reference to pi (with the greatest respects to Leonard Nimoy) where Spock has the computer calculate pi to keep it busy (much to the protests of the computer). Enjoy. - Amy Henson, Staff Scientist

Pi is an infinite number, due to the fact that it contains every single sequence of numbers and the fact that .jpg picture files can be displayed as a string of numbers somewhere in Pi is an accurate picture of everyone of your birthdays :D include those future :0
