In Ezra 1:10 there is a passage that may well enable is to calculate GSR in biblical times. Of course I could be WAAAAAAY out of whack, too. There is mention of thirty bowls of gold and four hundred ten bowls of silver. If the bowls were equal in weight this would result in a GSR of 13.666 Yes I'm bored.
And if you look at Ezra 1:9 and if the articles are of even weight, the GSR would have been 33.333333 .... Same speed the old vinyl albums played in revs per minute
There were times in ancient Egypt where the gsr was between 1:1 and 1:4 too, but these numbers don't mean anything in today's world. The ratio used to be formed based on mine output of both metals at that time, today mining technology has advanced so much that we can pull silver out of secondary mines (such as zinc). This means that you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for a gsr based on the ancient world.
In the modern era, isn't historical GSR useless? Ie in ancient time silver or gold was money or jewllery. Today silver is much more an industrial metal.
Times do change and keep changing. Who can predict human nature ? Use in electronics, health, solar power etc, doesn't prevent a desire to keep silver alike with gold as stores of value. let's see.
LOL, never knew about that. Revelations 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
