And there are those silver stackers who "buy the GSR" thinking that if the GSR drops, their silver will automatically go up. That is not true, far from it. When the GSR drops, one of three things can happen:
    1) Silver goes up
    2) Silver stays the same (gold simply goes down)
    3) Silver goes down (just not down as much as gold)

I also use the GSR to decide what bars to buy, to help chose between Gold and Silver.

At around 50, I would be thinking that gold is cheap compared to silver, so I would be buying Gold.

At above 60 I would think that silver is cheap compared to Gold so would probably buy more silver.

At 83 I wouldn't even think of buying gold, silver all the way, unless there was a really good special on a gold product.

Coins are different as you tend to go for the design or whatever is being hyped at the moment but having a rough idea as to which metal is relatively cheap or expensive compared to the other is as good as flipping a coin to decide which one to get.

I'll consider buying gold when the GSR lowers to around 9 to 1 (what it comes out of the ground at) , til then I'll continue stacking silver all the way.

I can not find this in the current act (https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2018C00331)

Can you please point me in the right direction to finding this directly?

    Thanks

It is prob in a different position in the act, they keep moving things around which is very annoying.

It's in the Currency Act: https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2016C01090

I've never actually read through all of that but it looks like it has some interesting bits.

Here is a % based comparison chart of each market from 1996. % based and time frame comparison gives a more visual perspective over GSR directly.

    chart.png

There is a very clear pattern that silver outperforms gold in a bull market while gold holds bear markets much better. The GSR has continued to rise even though we haven't tested new lows yet. This would indicate more gold demand by % then silver demand. But this is a good sign for the bulls as the gold market is much bigger then the silver market and can absorb a crap load more demand with little market affect. If you look in more detail/resolution on comparison charts like above you will see that gold has always led the precious metal market runs in the past, with silver fast overtaking and outperforming. GSR ratio really has no levels of resistance and no peak or trough has repeated itself, so it's historical levels has zero indication of how high or low it can go. I do feel (and my trader mates) a big market move is coming for precious metals in the next couple years, and I'm hoping it's up. But who knows for sure...

Here at 14:30 Mike Malony thinks the high GSR is an indicator to actually get into the metals market, not just "buy silver".

it attracted my attention when he presented in Russia about oil going to $10...
it plunged to the disbelieved of many people and reached below $30
