I haven't heard or read this anywhere, but I expect it will be in the offing.

Just spitballing, but my understanding of the situation is as follows:
    1. Three quarters of the population believe that climate change is taking place. One quarter don't.
    2. Of this three quarters, two thirds believe that it is mankind generated. One third believe that it is a natural cycle.
    3. We then have half a population that want to fix the problem and the other half believing that it is a left wing hoax.
    4. (I will be giving a lesson on fractions after the class.)
    5. This dichotomy has resulted with the general population taking their eyes off a larger problem which is pollution.
    6. Up until the turn of the century we were more concerned in keeping the land, sea and air clean. This also meant that there was a large element of carbon capture when limiting micro particle emissions. We now have a situation where we have thrown the baby out with the bath water.
    7. Moving on, we have a Greta inspired climate change strike by a very vocal teenage school population.
    8. A large number of these kids will be voting in the next five years!
    9. This number I believe will swing numbers back to the left.
    10. Regardless of political orientation, most governments will now pay lip service to this movement.
    11. Further, left wing governments and organisations will push for international recognition of this movement which I believe will result in a Nobel Prize.

Maybe Obama can hand her the award. He got something for nothing too.

this is a pretty good assessment, do you think she writes her own speeches?

Simply- no. There is a team that she works with. I have no doubt she has input.

My understanding is that all her speeches are scripted for her. Whether this occurred from the beginning or after she gained some local notoriety I don't know.

However, I believe her emotions are genuine. I remember as a kid being terrified during the Cuban Missile confrontation, believing that the world was going to end. I think that most kids are now going through a similar anxiety.

If she keeps going she will definitely be put forward.
Although I feel climate changes are being affected by human activity I agree that many other critical topics are being lost. Many people don’t believe humans have or could have any impact on the climate. That is clear.
Meanwhile the globe is straining under the impact of human activity. Soil structure is failing, antibiotic failure is a catastrophe about to have quite an impact, intensive farming techniques are culturing diseases that will have a substantial impact to our food supply and inland water supplies are in ever diminishing supply.

You can degrade your own home to the point it no longer provides the shelter you require. We don’t currently have another home. That’s a problem we share. Will we fight over the last functional room or start to repair the damage and make the home more liveable?

A loving and rational parent would ease those anxieties by explaining the facts, clearly Thunberg’s parents are neither rational nor explaining the facts. If they hand out Nobel Prizes for parental failures, then I guess we can start including them in the free packs kids get at school from time to time.

Recently there has a been a lot of news about Greta Thunberg speaking at the United Nations in regards to Climate Change. What is interesting is the people that surround Greta Thnberg one of which works for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Of course this could just be coincidence https://twitter.com/Suzi3D/status/117...

Didn't Al Gore (Nobel Peace Prize winner 2007) say in 2006 unless we take action, the planet will reach a tipping point in 10 years, not to mention his predictions the Arctic ice will disappear. Well Al, it's 10+ years since then old mate and neither have happened....Maybe time to hand your Nobel gong back.

I hadn't thought to go to my bet app. It looks like it was not an original thought of my own.

I'm surprised that HRC does not get a mention for simply being not Trump!

My parents did not have the time to do the reading that I did about the Cold War, Cuban missile crisis and the ongoing nuclear testing that was occurring in the sixties and seventies.
Children today are way more informed about issues that I was.
Now is all this info true in its entirety- definitely not. But honestly a rational person looking at human history and overlaying that on the current situation has to feel pretty uncomfortable.
If you sleep well at night then good for you but the data does not let me rest quite so easily.

Jacinda Ardern for nobel thats a classic.

Gets upset and calls it Inhumane that Australia sends NZ underworld criminals back to NZ, But she sends Duel citizen Criminals back to Tonga lol.
I guess sending people to NZ with her as PM is inhumane lol

Wash your mouth out, that is a name that I wished I had never heard

I don't think that she can or will last much longer, the constant pressure will kill her off then they will blame me a climate denier :D

The fact is this world is in Zero danger from "climate change" but is in extreme danger from the people who market the poison o_O

Were are being set up for the final cull "save the planet" but kill most of the people who live on it
