Greetings folks, Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm overwhelmingly new to precious metals. I stumbled on the concept through a series of Youtube videos while searching for investments other than traditional retirement vehicles and savings accounts. Over the last several weeks I've been watching those videos at an astounding rate. Sadly, the more I watch, I end up with more questions than answers. My initial goal (I say initial because I'm sure it will develop as I become proficient) is to delve into coins and stack to the point where my stack begins to work for me. How I get there? Well, I'm still learning and researching. I made my first purchase at a local coin shop yesterday. I hesitate to present that to you folks for fear of violating the financial and investment advise rules, but I'm curious if I made a good buy or poor buy. In either case, I'm sure I could probably use a mentor... Thanks for the opportunity to post and I welcome any guidance or suggestions. Brick
Welcome Good to see you're looking for alternatives. Who were you watching on YouTube? There's plenty to avoid! Good list here. Would like to hear how you'll get your stack to work for you, given metals don't provide any sort of income or dividend. Present your coin to us... Go on!
Thank you, House and thank you for the list. I've been watching some videos from Junius Maltby, TruthNeverTold, SalivateMetal, and SilverfishVT to name a few. Not sure I entirely agree with views expressed but I was looking for any info I could garner about silver stacking. Thankfully now your list will give me more resources, very much appreciated. I'm not sure how to make my silver work for me, that's my goal but I honestly have no earthly idea how I'm going to get there this early in the game. It does give me a nice puzzle to figure out though. I've never been one to dip my toes into the water to see if it's cold so I decided to jump right in. I went to a local coin dealer yesterday and made my first purchase of about $100 worth of silver. I'm sure I was under prepared (I'm still trying to wrap my head around premiums) and may have been taken advantage of but I was anxious to get started. Making mistakes is one of the ways we learn. So I bought the below: Yesterday's spot was $19.85 USD I think: 1 oz. American Eagle $23.85 1 oz. Generic Coin (Franklin D. Roosevelt 1982 Hundredth Anniversary) $22.00 not sure what to call it, still learning the lingo. $3.25 FV 90% silver $52.97 All in I was at $98.82 Any insight, feedback or suggestion would be great. Thank you very much folks for the kind welcome.
Greeting, and welcome to the forum. Don't worry too much about the mistakes you will make in your purchases .. at some stage we have all made them. Just remember to buy what you like.
