Did you forget about when i wanted to trade one of my harleys for silver earlier in the year ?.It was the last thing the boss let in for trading ...so its my fault there is no more trading i guess
I'm all for our own little PM economy - I suggest it be face 2 face only though and no one slings excreta the forums way if a deal doesn't work out for whatever reason. i.e. It functions more as a place for people looking to trade something for PM's to meet and they facilitate everything from there on out of the forums eye.
It has been tried before... and we ended up with a plethora of trading post style trades with everything from used computer parts to cars. Not really what the trading forums on here are for.
Create a new trading room specifically for metals for items trades? That way folks know what will be there (to a degree) before looking and don't have to look if they don't want to.
hmm.. Anyway you can make that section hidden, for people who dont want it? Like the private trading floor for premium members?
I especially like the idea for producers of food and homemade goods to find a market (however small) to meet up with the odd stacker who buys their goods - market style. Power to the people. Now THATS a gold/silver standard. Box of fruit and veg for half an ounce of silver. Raw goods from the earth traded for other goods from the earth. wow. How inspiring!
Maybe put a minimum $ amount on the things you can trade so it cant be full of shit. or 2 subsections 1K to 5K then 5K & over.I dont know im just making suggestions.
i think its a great idea. i actually want to sell my car for silver to buy stocks to make money to BUY more silver right now, so you would get me twice as a customer in and out.

If I have a handful of crappy fiat and a handful of silver I know which one I am paying with. It would be great for me to sell some stuff in exchange for silver but I sure wouldn't want to part with silver to buy anything when I have the option of paying in plastic. Though I would actually get off my backside and sell some smaller items for a fraction of their value for silver rather than try to get the top price for fiat, which I can't be bothered to do. I would probably only do face to face though, postage would be too much trouble. but does anyone actually want any old XBox games?!?
