Another big drop in $A gold price. Might be a few buying opportunities in gold stocks sector today. Holders will be ok; you can well afford a pullback to let us window fogging mouth breathers in.
Northern Star NST still my object of desire @ 4X the price I once bought and sold at.
Evolution Mining EVN might show some weakness soon in reaction to a well discounted entitlement offering?

Northern Star: is that a small Head and Shoulders shaping on the daily chart - or just an almost completed retracement and fill of the 'gap' made in June? Volume's not convincing for the H&S interpretation.

Can't help but feel a little frustrated at the recent drops. I'm a holder of both and we are likely to see big drops today off the back of the overnight price drop.

Let's hope we can see a more sustained and stronger gold price in the next few months, otherwise these stocks are going to fall off a cliff.

    ^^^

EVN and NST have been going great. No need to be frustrated by pullback imo

Got distracted and missed 15 minutes of open. NST made low so far of 4.05, but i got 1000 shares @ 4.13
Hoping for a few more. Kind of hoping daily H&S scenario plays out, as you could see price of NST @ 3.50 or so conceivably. At this time i think that's a less likely outcome - hence a purchase now.

Throw in DRM which had a very average quarterly... and been pumped since!

New mine starting up, good JV's, and all the rest... ill be a buying more if we correct further leading towards the end of this year.

EVN: Also a holder, good blue-chip gold stock.

I really have enough DRM, but I would be inclined to add only if pessimism overtakes the stock. The selling is very strong, and I think 60c is a fair chance, and dont laugh, I see 40c as a slim possibility. That is trying to look at it as a chart and trying to overcome my partiality to it as a company and a sector. This assumes no dramatic good news.

Well its hit your magic 60c number! some very heavy selling indeed... i wonder if HH is offloading.

Anyway... as i have said previously... ill be a buyer later in the year. Ill wait for it to form a bottom and ill grab some more.

Looking 2 years away... in the middle of the bull-run... things for this stock should be very promising! excluded these short-term jitters.

    Added 1,000 NST @ 4.04
$4 area could easily become support, being a prior peak, however scenario #2 ...
... Still eyeing possible small head and shoulders pattern. If its active could deliver NST price to somewhere between 3.50 - 3.00?

    NST 1 yr daily

Can't get a break. Waiting for opportunity to add NST ..
A$ Gold price heavily down 4 days in row, Northern Star (NST) up 4 days in a row
Doesn't look good for those wanting to accumulate.

NST versus GOLD (tan line) daily

Interestingly, Deutsche Bank bought 35,000,000 NST on (5.9% of the shares) 18th march and then promptly sold them all on the 23rd March :/

Northern Star's catch-phrase in its presentations is, "An Australian Gold Miner - For Global Investors". Maybe the best chance for accumulators, outside a gold price decline or a production set-back, is a 'rebalancing' by one of its big fund owners: VanEck or Blackrock.

Is that Deutsche Bank position direct or for their clientele?

The Deutsche Bank is looking very shaky, and without the backing of Merkel they could be in serious trouble by say November. If that 5.9% is in fact direct, what is the chances they will need to sell that position to cover themselves elsewhere i wonder?

Also hoping for a blip/opportunity under $4 but not holding my breath. Stock looks like it could be a perfect second savings account one day.

You said you were waiting for a nice drop in NST to buy some more? It's happened big!

I bought some NST two weeks ago for around $4.55. Wish I waited and got them now at $4.11 :(

    Added NST today
    1,000 @ 4.18
    1,000 @ 4.08
Still hoping for a possible drop to 3.00 - 3.50, on the view that NST would probably recover from there and possibly multi-bag if secular bull market has resumed. That's just my view. Never count on your paper profits with gold stocks. NST appears to be one of the best. I would probably add significantly at 3.00 - 3.50 price range if it does come to that.
