    Record-breaking gold will likely surge past $1,600 per ounce for the first time later this year, driven by fears over high inflation and low global interest rates, consultancy GFMS forecast Wednesday.

    "We would not be surprised ... to see gold break through $1,600 before the end of the year," said GFMS chairman Philip Klapwijk in the group's latest report.

    Agreed. Gold $1600 by the end of the year is actually a very conservative estimate. Gold has made about $100 in the last week of trade alone on the most recent spike.

    A further$150 increase in the last 8 months of trade seems a very safe assumption if you ask me.

    Personally, I believe that $1900 by the years end is not unattainable.

    I feel guilty liking this news, simply because as i get wealthier, people are gonna die and things are gonna be real tough for a lot of people...
