I have not stacked any gold yet but getting close.
I noticed that Gold eagles cost more the Gold maples but not by much and also noticed the Gold eagles at .9167 vs Gold maples at .9999
So would it be better to by Maples for the better gold quality??????

They both contain 1oz of actual gold.

    Makes no difference.
Check out bullion dealers, the price paid for gold is by fine gold content so if your coin is 22ct or 24ct it doesn't affect the price. The weight normalised to 24ct is what counts.

The bid ask spread on the buffalo coins is too much. I am not sure what the spread is on the Maple. If you were buying several, I would say get the AGEs. If you are only buying one, get whichever one you like best. The AGEs are easier to sell and they are exempt from 1099 reporting. I cannot remember the reporting rules on Maples, but one coin would likely fall under a diminimus exception. Of course any sales are to be reported on your taxes, but I sleep better with the knowledge that the US government doesn't know what pms I own.
