Have a gander at the vid I posted by John Stossel - Illegal Everything - one section about the couple who cleared a few logs from a culvert on their land... They won the court case against the Federal Govt after it raised some objection... but then were faced with Army Engineers who told them they'd illegally created a wetland area and they're being charged $37,000 PER DAY - just bizarre!

Watched it, and while I would never drink lemonade made by children from a roadside stall, it is obvioulsy a sign that all the major crime in America has been cleared up, all the crimes solved and they now have time to move onto the little league stuff.

But in all seriousness, who is it easier to go after, a generally law abiding pre teen selling lemonade, or an armed robber? Drug dealers, or home owners? Car thieves or 'speeders'?

No offence intended REDBACK but I'm inclined to suggest You have your meds re-assessed.
No one in their right mind, would buy precious metals of any kind at the moment. I admit I bought some today, but the statement stands. :p

Looks like Marc Faber was right (again). He said he saw another leg down and I didn't really believe him. Now we see gold needs more time before tackling the big 19-0h, and wow when that cracks she'll blow! I'm feeling 1600 a possibility now, and even a spike down to the Sept 2011 low of ~1535. That would create a superb looking symmetrical consolidation. The rise to challenge 1900 again should be electric after the downleg completes - Yumma yumma yumma.

    My sentiments only

Its been above $1900 before and since then trillions in liquidity has been pumped out by the Fed/ECB so theres no doubt in my mind well see those highs again this year

Though as Jim Rogers says, its been up 11 years in a row so its about time we had a down year

Hi - the year started with Gold at about US$1570 it looks like? My take is that this downleg won't take us below the December 2011 low of $1525, if that far. I feel 1600 has some chance of holding with just a brief spike below. I also don't believe gold will decline for more than a month or two from here. Therefore that would give it at least 7 months to recover from that future low. So if my first two premises turn out to be right, there's no way Gold won't exceed $1570 from a low of $1525 (i.e just a move of $45) before 7 months elapses from the low and the year is finished. That is, gold will end the year higher imo. I personally agree with your first comment - that gold will challenge 1900 again before the year's out, with a good chance of exceeding it.

    Just my sentiments.

Does anybody else acknowledges the power of the current Fiat system over Gold?

Ah, perspective. See the little scribble up the top? That's what we're concerned about, and the mainstream hacks are calling an end to the gold bull market. Missing one mthly bar, but no big deal, it wouldn't take the chart near the recent low if drawn in. Maybe it'll turn out to be a fractal of the inverse Head & Shoulders correction of 2008-09, but smaller?

REDBACK if you meant that the extra power my fiat has over gold right now (ie purchasing power) then I'm totally with you ... as you say "Buy now Cry later!!" (though I guess that could apply on a rise OR a fall haha)
