    hello everybody

im a broke small time silver and gold stacker from the states. when i started stacking originally i was aimimg at 1oz bars of gold and higher but soon realize its going to take me quite some time to get an ounce going.
i came to the conclusion that for me the best plan is to buy 1/4 oz coins.

which coins of this size do you guys recommend?

my aim is for long time storage and not a quick flip.. also since i plan hoarding for quite some time i would also like the numismatic value to go up along with the metal price.

since i have no experience in gold coins whatsoever (other than knowing that krugerrands and american gold eagles are not pure .999 gold---which im going to avoid buying) ii am relying on your educated guess that would be in my best interest.

    thank you

My advice would be to see if you can afford the fractional pandas. They would have the best numismatic value among other bullion gold coins (american eagles, maples). You can also consider Perth mint lunar fractionals.

    1/10 lunars n panda followed by 1/4oz.
1/10 seems to have the better ROI plus its affordable for most people even if it has a higher premium at most dealer.

Hey altima, TGB is selling older 1/10 gold maples at spot if u r interested.

Sorry but their website says this for that particular coin (or most of their items for that matter).

This product is available for pre-ordering.

So basically you won't get it until much much later.

Caveat emptor when dealing with bullion dealers that are selling items they don't have stock.

It's a major downside. Who wants to pay and then not know when their products will arrive?

Apparently they are in stock (not sure how true that is).

I guess it is everyone's personal choice to buy from such dealers. I personally don't want to wait 3 mths for an order to come in.

Are there any dealers offering unallocated accounts that you would be interested in using?

You can put as much money as you can afford into the account and then when there is enough you can chose a coin and have it delivered.

This way you can buy bigger coins, which work out to be more cost effective, and you only have to pay postage once.

1/4 gold is good, but keep away from numis until you're studied the subject.

Sometimes the premium on 1/10 is less than the 1/4oz at some dealers.
But for fractionals, i would only buy these 2 sizes and it always depends on which has less premium when ready to buy.

Wtf! All the 1/10 gold leaf at TGB suddenly arent on the site!
Did they just realized they listed at spot or did Altima bought all of them. Lol.

Btw, TGB is a local bullion dealer here in canada.

Won't buy/sell anything to that dealer after my horrendous experience.

It's either someone bought them up or it was a mistake in pricing. They took down the page and I have yet to see concrete proof that anybody managed to get any of them.

I also prefer 1/4. Premiums are not too hi, and easy to sell, easier that 1/2 for example. The size is also OK to play with :D

Kangaroos, Lunars, Maples, Philharmonics is what i like. Pandas no, I don like chineese coins, reminds me on cheap copies and stuff they make... Also only 999 coins, no krugerands or eagles.... just pure gold is OK for me.

I like Latin Money Union gold and gold Mexican Pesos because they tend to have low premiums and people know what they are. They also come in various sizes so anyone can find something in their price range. I don't currently own any but I like sovereigns, too. I like my gold fractional.
