    Thanks oddjob :)

I am aware of Professor Ian Plimer from Fox.

As I said today to the owner of the local jewelry shop "global warming" is being used to control the ignorant, she is a global warming cry baby :D

Jordan Peterson has no qualifications or expertise in climate science, or any hard science for that matter.

His Ph.D was in clinical psychology. His prior qualifications were in literature and political science.

There is 1,600 coal fired power stations being built or planned mainly by China,India and Indonesia.

These is not even one coal powered station being planned here,we are lauded over by the rich and treated as fools

    "Save the planet" no

He doesn't need qualifications in climate science ... that means he can talk to the insiders and isn't compromised .... it also means he understands human nature and the limits on it ...

My own non scientist point of view is that CO2 is a distraction, that massive pollution has unforseen consequences, and man-made destruction of the environment is a real thing.

45% of species extinct over the last 50 or so years. Insect populations plummeting, bees dying off, plastic in every aspect of the food chain and deep ocean species floating, dead, to the surface.

Internal combustion engines and an endless list of dirty industrial processes, are killing the planet.

Sit in your garage with the engine running and you'll be dead soon enough. That's earth. Eat polluted food and you'll sicken and die from it. That's the food chain below that human activity has poisoned.

If action that reduces pollution is a consequence of "global warming climate change" action, well then 3 cheers for us.

TIME magazine’s January 31, 1977, cover featured the cover story, “The Big Freeze.” They reported that scientists were predicting that Earth’s average temperature could drop by 20 degrees fahrenheit. Their cited cause was, of course, that humans created global cooling. globalcooling.png

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't your post the complete opposite to global warming :D and only back a short 42 years ago

I am guessing the George Soros types didn't get us shitting our pants enough so they decided to turn the fear campaign 180 degrees to global warming instead, they are 100% determined to control us and the truth does not matter only control.

One can search / Google and find video's and other data arguing the case either way. I have a memory as a young' en seeing doco's on TV about global cooling and the next ice age etc and then come the 90's people starting talking global warming and with the advent of internet we got hit from all sides by numerous shrills and apparent experts telling us we need to stop carbon omissions and starting paying carbon taxes.... when someone starts talking a new tax, I get suspicious.

I'm certainly no believer in man made global warming. Yes global climate change does happen but I believe it has more to do with the plant doing it's own thing to an extent we don't understand plus external factors such as our sun. Plenty of data over the centuries where sun spot activity has been recorded and paralleled to various climatic events.

I just want a chair and open debate... no shrills and name calling where scientific data from both sides can be discussed as that is the purpose of science. Telling me the debate is over, the science is settled is BS....if it is settled, then why are govt's still wasting our money on climate research?

Talking about the weather is one of mankind's greatest distractions when no one really has anything to say ...

I saw a 3 part doco in the 1980s that predicted pretty much where we are now.

Next stage is mass migration away from uninhabitable areas and the collapse of large cities into sustainable human centres of half to a million people at most, with local commuting and agriculture. No more Californian lemons for example.

Shiney is optimistic for the future and if I was, this would be it.

Quote - then why are governments still wasting our money on "climate research"

Why indeed - to me it shows the corrupted human heart at it best (worst)

You do know it's not CO2 that kills you if you're sitting in the closed garage with your engine running, right?

The industrial processes' emissions have gotten a million miles cleaner since the '80's, in the developed nations that is. E.g., Europe has cleaned their act, and USA has reduced their emissions at an admirable rate (see SO2 emissions as an example). The sad thing is that Asia and India are accelerating their emissions until 2030, as sanctioned by the much-hyped Paris Climate Agreement. The plastic to the world's oceans, and I believe you're well aware of this, comes in overwhelming majority (90%), from South-East Asia and Africa's rivers (see pic), where literally everything is dumped in raw. We should have been building waste-to-enegy plants two decades ago to developed nations, and stopped all other foreign aid unless these facilities are also ran at capacity in all recipient third world nations.

Yes, species are going extinct. I too worry about this. Yet the politicians fail at calling a spade a spade, instead of focusing on virtue-signalling and PC language. And sheeple continue voting socialists and Greens. It's not going to make the world better even if all Australia stopped breathing for all eternity this very second. The policies AOC and her ilk are driving would cause millions to die due to starvation - we are at that level of dependency of global trade flows and industrial agriculture. No amount of city dweller "veggie patches" will be sufficient to sustain the populations of this planet, it's all folly.
