GPR up 10% on the news of a new CEO and maybe even more telling the announcement that Sprott is backing the project.

    Price at posting: 64c.

I wasn’t going to buy more gold stocks but I put them on my radar after reading a couple of analyst reports and the announcement that Sprott are on board means I’ll add them to my portfolio.

A quick scroll through their reports and I haven’t seen any detailed references.

Just that they’ve rescheduled certain operations.

I bought some yesterday - they have been on my radar for a little while as a potential breakout.

I think I need a "how to buy shares 101" thread. I want to diversify the investment portfolio but would not have a clue how to start. Any pointers?

My current philosophy is that I can’t compete against the fund managers with all of the resources they have at their disposal. But also they’re limited to buying proven companies coz they’ve got monthly reports to publish, they use OPM and really can’t afford the volatility of small and micro caps where the big gains (and losses) are to be made.

So I’m swimming in the micro and small cap pond looking for opportunities. Say sub-$300 million market cap.

Now I’m not an expert and probably am a bit lucky so far, I’ve only been doing this for 12 months. So I’m not sure if I’m actually any good at this game.
