    Hi,

Not sure what I am doing here, but I hope to learn from others that may have good advice.

Ok, I purchased 1/2 oz of gold (just the blob with perth mint logo stamped) 2 years ago, well if I sell it today I'll lose $100.
It doesn't seem like it was a smart purchase.

So someone suggested I look at Silver Stackers, here I am.
So I started looking at the Silver 1 oz coins, the Kookaburra and the koalas.
Its seems as though the 2013 coins are $8.00 more expensive than the 2014 coins.
And the 2012 coins are $5.00 more expensive than the 2013's, and the same $5 difference for the 2011 coins
compared to the 2012's. Am I on the right track?

I am looking for an long term investment, but it would seem that I would need to turn
coins over each year to make $8.00 per coin. I hope I am making sense, am I making sense?

Also, is it easy to sell coins here after I own them for a year?

    Cheers for any advice :)

    Hey,
Its not quite how it works, but premiums on some older coins tend to go up over time, but it wont be the same for each coin in series (and sometimes it drops) some years go up more.than others and some coins fall in and out of favour over time.

Put it another way, how much would you have wasted if you hadn't bought that 1/2oz blob? A few good nights on the town and hazy memories is what you probably would have instead of $700 worth of gold ;) What other assets do you invest in?

The 2014 Kooks have a larger mintage (an extra 200k) and current year will usually be cheaper than a sold out previous year.

Yup, it's easy to sell coins at any time on here. Price them properly and you'll have a quick sale.

    .... and welcome :)

    Cheers Shinny Silver people .
    I'm feeling the love.

House you make a great point - "a bird in the hand".
So are the 2014 Kooks worth buying, did I read somewhere that 500k were made?

    Hey,

What does "Until declared" mean? Till they make more? lol

Whats the advantage in the Lunars over the Kooks?

    Cheers.

Until the mintages close for the year or fully sold out.
We know the lunar S2 Ag bullion have definitely 12 coins to the set ( 2008- 2020). Mintages 300 K no more for the 1 oz.
The kooks set is from 1990 to current year; maybe more; 24 coins to the set till today. The mintages varies for different years. ie . 2014 500 k capped.
The Koala 1 oz is a different story, mintage is unlimited but closed end of the year.
    Does these make sense???

The Lunars are much popular than the Kooks, also Kooks mintages have been stuff up with the restrike coins. ( from 1991-2006)

Some brilliant people decide to remint the Kooks as it was not up to the full mintage.
After that they realise it was illegal to do so. Lol.

I'm personally not "into" the look of the Chinese coins.
Any other coins worth looking at?

There's dozens! Just look at a few different retailers and see what's in stock. Also, importantly, many annual bullion coins with a limited mintage sell out quickly in 1oz size. The 2015 Perth Mint lunar coins are coming soon. October or November, from memory.

    And, welcome to the forum.
