Hi everyone, A friend recommended me to this forum - I'm really glad to find it. My main area of interest in terms of investing are Aussie domain names. But I'm also very interested in precious metals - so now I can combine both. One of my domain names is the category killer "silverbullion.com.au". I am looking to develop this domain name, and therefore this forum is an excellent portal for me to learn lots more about silver. I'm very interested in finding out about offers I can promote. Welcome to the Forum Ned, Eventually down the track ( or even now ) you could post a new thread on Domain Investing and such things and allow us a few glimpses into that investment world.
Hello neddy, I have to agree with matrix on the domain names. They'll just keep introducing new things to add on to the end of web things. The play will be to buy the new stuff early, sell out (maybe before they've peaked) before they become obsolete. Look at silver as an example. 6 months ago a 10 oz PM bar would be scoffed up like fresh liver at a wolf-pack kill. A month ago southern cross bars and SS ones were all the rage, now "dragons". You either gotta ride the barrel and sell before it closes out - or be content to play on the sliders. Make sense? Anyway, welcome mate.
Thanks for the welcome Matrix. I have to respectfully disagree with your statement, but I won't get embroiled in an argument on my first day. Ha ha! I do want to stay on this forum. Suffice to say I am a full time domain investor and developer, and make a good living with Aussie domains. I'm an old fart, and been around the traps a bit, and I have never found anything that provides an ROI like a good Aussie domain name that has been bought cheaply. But I'll leave that subject for another day perhaps ......... In the meantime, I'm keen to learn about information and resources for my domain name. "silverbullion.com.au" that is an appropriate domain ! If you dont mind, how long ago did you register it ? Or if you have bought it from someone else, do you know how long ago they registered it ?!
Thanks! I purchased this domain name at auction 12 months ago. I believe it was previously owned for about 4 years.

Hi Bargain Hunter, Was a property investor / developer for many years. Started in the early 80's, and did my dough a few times over the next couple of decades. Ouch. For something completely different to do, my wife and I started up a corporate florist in Melbourne CBD in the late 90's. Also got online then with one of the first florist eCommerce stores. I wish I had bought more domain names back then ............. I've been full time domaining since 2005 (or a cyber property investor/developer), and the ROI cannot be beaten if you half know what you are doing. But I do love collecting my gold and silver too. Used to do a lot of part time gold prospecting when I lived in WA. (Grew up in mining towns as my Dad was a Metallurgist). Cheers, Ned
