Hello, I only found this section of the forum today and thought I'd better post my hello thread to annouce myself as a new member. Actually, my first post was in the sale/trade section where I'm rapidly learning about the people and how it all operates here. It's got to be said that it's been a fantastically friendly experience so far. Everyone has been welcoming and even helped out with some of the various terms that I hadn't even thought meant something specific (eg "Buzz" = reserve item) Also a few people have gone to great length to advise that weren't meaning to "lowball" me. I've already guessed that it means an inapproriately low bid and (thankfully) not smacking me with their genitalia. I just hadn't thought of it as an offensive action (I'd usually give a polite no thanks or simply ignore) and was surprised to read various gracious explainations of their bid. This lead me to figure that, wow - these people are really nice! So, a big thank-you to everyone for such a great welcome! Alan PS (Something I couldn't find in the FAQ) What the hell is a "Pikey" when mentioned or referred to in the forums and how does it compare to "lowballing"?
