Just a heads up on what's being said about CommSec - important to know if any of you use 'em... Forget the 'I've lost my life savings but' - caveat emptor, always - but interesting what's being said... (not reposting verbatim due to c'right) http://hotcopper.com.au/post_single.asp?fid=1&tid=1987121&msgid=11647694
Let me get this straight (I found the post a bit hard to follow to be honest)... Current SP is $0.48. The poster wants to place a sell order at $0.8x and it got refused. Yet, someone else's sell order was accepted at $0.80. Sounds like a storm in a tea cup. $180k prop on a $1B company - don't think it's going to have a huge effect personally. Edit: prop probably is the exact opposite word to what I'm looking for, I used the same wording as the link.
Buy Lynas? Wasnt that changed to SELL Lynas about the time there was rumblings of political negativity and the bursting of the REE stock hype! I made good money off lynas - but for crying out loud - it has billions of shares on issue! Why do people buy junior explorers/developers with billions of shares on issue! LYC, ALK - obviously got burned in the REE speculative bubble crash. I think if you were a paying for IRess on commsec - you can do that sort of sell order, but if you're just an average Joe like me who doesnt need Iress - you are limited to the up/down %age from current share price. Any comsec customers who use Iress around that can confirm?
Sorry - I'm assuming the people here who are clued-up on the general concept of manipulation know about how the usual story of snatch & grab by the major merchant banks like JP Morgan, Goldmans, DB, Citi etc already are aware of what's happened with Lynas... this was just one trade, and owing to the manipulation of the stock in an effort to control these strategic resources there are literally thousands of trades daily which continue the short squeeze in the same way as pm markets have been - and by the same people... Why? http://www.proedgewire.com/rare-ear...-critical-materials-risks-and-contradictions/ http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/content/en/mineweb-industrial-metals-minerals-old http://www.thefinancialist.com/building-up-global-supply-of-rare-earths/ http://energy.gov/articles/ames-lab...dress-shortages-rare-earth-and-other-critical http://www.petroleumnews.com/pntruncate/889458715.shtml http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/R41744.pdf http://americanresources.org/tag/rare-earths/ Now who do you think does the US Govt's bidding? Which organisations act as gobetween? You're already familiar with them, because you hold silver... (wrcmad - like I said, no point lifting out of the post that the 'investor' is obviously er, challenged - that's why I said 'forget about... caveat emptor always' etc) Analogous with the control these organisations seek, also covered are foodstuffs, energy, media, other commodities... see the bigger picture & in context please... and the effects of these behemoths... http://www.thesleuthjournal.com/gol...s-in-2012-while-hundreds-of-millions-starved/ A World of limitless derivatives which have no purpose but to shore-up non-existent physical materials... limitless money printing... limitless debt to keep milking the global population... loans that could never have been repaid in a gazillion years, let alone 20-30... I'm not going to push what's already known down your throat: Oh, and Europe... http://www.thesleuthjournal.com/goldman-sachs-completes-economic-takeover-of-europe/ http://www.softpanorama.info/Skepti...nancial_sector/TBTF/Goldman_Sachs/index.shtml So, from this little article I was just flagging a little (stupid or not) guy's exasperation at some of the crap people are expected to take... and (rightly) the fact that selectively Comm5ec have already manipulated trades... that's really incidental... It's the people who want those resources who are primarily to blame... but you have to ask why Comm5ec might assist...
I think it'll come around - Malaysian election's no threat to operation & ramp-up, ree basket price will recover (it's cyclical, like most things I guess), noone else has a $1Bn plant handy in SE Asia outside China so close to established manufacturing centres, great communications, with the embargo China's effectively put on its exports (and no they won't dump on the market because that'll see them short for their own manufacturing, stockpiles'd deplete, at which point they're exposed to true global s&d forces in the market aren't they?) and with the US DoD stating quite clearly last year that for 'supply chain purposes' any company based in Australia (hint hint) is as far as they're concerned as useful as any US domestic source... it's all good.
The post the OP was talking has been deleted by the admin over in hotcopper. Anybody want to repost what the original message basically said?
His OP is still there - http://hotcopper.com.au/post_single.asp?fid=1&tid=1987121&msgid=11647127 - his subsequent comment's been removed Don't worry about it
pity the guy.. that would happen to anyone.. and he is the only one who voiced his opinion and it got silenced now. now the big brokers just keep on doing what they want to do.. imagine what will happen to one of us one day.. this has to stopped.. the whole system..
Commonwealth Bank executes all CommSec clients' trades through an entirely opaque crossing system... believed to be the largest retail dark pool in the Australian market... Consequently on hft or insider trading issues I doubt very much that ASIC'd get a look-in...
I'm not quite following WTF is being said but I'm guessing some bloke just got rolled by the big boys?
SURE he is... Mwah-hah-hah-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! http://www.brw.com.au/p/investing/commsec_dark_pool_in_asic_spotlight_MqrQ3qjKzj2DyWgBhXq1XI
