I was just looking at a few 20c pieces in my change and the 1999 one is frosted? I have never noticed this before, are all 1999 20c frosted?

I will try and post a few pics. I cant find another 20c similar,it actually feels different to the rest and thats how I first noticed it, its rough to touch like modern silver frosted coins or as if the entire coin has been etched although this is well circulated condition.

I know its not anything special but I have never handled an au 5 10 or 20c coin that feels and looks like this one, thus my curiosity.

Thanks, why is it so evenly rough? it feels like fine grade sandpaper but the raised sections are not worn down. It must have been chemically changed as you can see by tilting the coin that its too even a finish. I have not come across a coin like it that I can remember other than fake play money as a child

It also has a double rim bottom of platypus and top left of crown.

Time for the HP sauce clean. :D
